E-bike recommendations for Long Covid/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome sufferer

Here you go Pea. If you want a twist and go without pedal then have a Wisper bike type approved, it appears David @Wisper is the only vendor/seller offering this option. Full Throttle ebike legal again! | Pedelecs - Electric Bike Community

E-bike recommendations for Long Covid/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome sufferer

Sadly Pea, just a case of the LBS not knowing the law. David will get things sorted for you I'm sure.

    motor problem

As often happens a pic can be misleading, whereas if I had the bike in front of me it would take a few seconds to get working.

No it's not a faulty PAS, it's a mix up of interpreting the wires in #37. The pic shows a Green wire which muddies the picture. Having looked now I think that Green wire is incidental and just happens to be in the way adding to the confusion and is a red herring. Lets start again. Both side...

The gap needs to be closer like 1mm.

Yes, for now leave brakes disconnected and try again. As I mentioned in #46 , with the brakes it depends on the sensor type used.

    motor problem

Change the display and PAS should work. For the brakes try swapping the wires over, it depends if the Reed sensor used is open or close. For two wires if one combo doesn't work then swap the wires around.

Ok thanks, the PAS Blue to Red is correct. PAS Blue is being used for 5v so marries to controller Red & PAS Green is the Sig so marries to controller Blue Sig. Wire colours don't usually marry up to the same opposite colour, the exception being maybe Black and Red if used on both parts.

    motor problem

Yes, use the new display it will be paired with the controller so use it and see if the PAS works first as it is most likely a compatibility issue. Those displays all look vey much the same and some bikes use the same display, however it is the PCB programming that is different and the software...

    motor problem

One can try switching the Green & Blue, though from the old pics there is no way of knowing what designation they use the colours for. I suspect the order of connection from the PAS is as below and currently it is correct. Gnd Black to Gnd Black 5V Blue to 5v Red Sig Green to Sig Blue. I...

Ladies Raleigh Voyager + TSDZ2 conversion story

I have started to use smaller batteries as well. My town bike is 12s 2p 6ah (264wh) and my gravel bike I can use a pair of 7s 3p 8.7ah(208wh), the spare I an carry in the seat pack. I still have my Boardman cx for longer rides of 160k for which I have more wh.

The use of a small battery is ideal for local stuff and for about 20 miles, it's certainly worth having the lighter weight if it meets all your needs.

Bloody marvellous and a good job, new bikes aren't always the way to go. A good choice with the brakes though quite dear they are well worth having over std cable pull rims brakes. Deep lilac for a wild choice but the world is your oyster.

I looked at your pics on page 1 of this thread and see it is a lishui brand, what did you replace the controller with ?

Fitting torque arm behind cable head

As mentioned having the axle seated fully so the flat sides rest wholly in the drop out assists the TA's to do there job properly, the TA's rely on just the one fixing ( a bolt or machine screw to take all of the rotational torque force. If you only fit one TA then the opposing face will still...

Fitting torque arm behind cable head

#4 is just the drop out width that a motor fits, 135mm =/-1 or 2mm is/was pretty standard but some bikes may be a bit wider. The important bit is the axle measure it, mostly all the DD hubs utilise a 14mm deep x 10mm wide axle. If the previous wheel axle was 9mm then it is logical that to fit a...

Fitting torque arm behind cable head

If the axle flat isn't entirely seated against the drop out face then it has the tendency to want to roll on the opening and thus will wear the ali mouth. The seat of the drop out has to file carefully to leave a slightly rounded seat otherwise metal fatigue will cause cracks at the corners if...

The Puma/Mac motor is like a lot of other hub motors, the manufacturer is simply applying a rating to suit the markets and keep authorities happy. Opening the tech/specs of the system one link clearly states the rating as 500w and the other 250w, all other specs are exact down to the kv/rpm...
