    Dawes Swift

It's no intrusion. It's my hobby. I'm OK, back at home now, but got to go back tomorrow for scans, which should reveal the cause of my problems, then we can concentrate on fixing them.

    Cassette wear?

Please, please, please, show the photos I've already asked for twice, so that we can judge the chain length, which is most likely the cause of your problems.

    Cable fault 1E error code

As I said above, reed switches come in three flavours: NO = normally open; NC = normally closes; and NC/NO = both depending on which wire you connect. The circuit needs to be open when the brake is off and closed when the brake is on, but you need to know where the magnet rests when the brake...

    Cassette wear?

Hardly any wear. You can just a out make out some damage from the chain jumping. Show some pictures of the chain from the side in top and bottom gear.

    China Bashing

The Chinese have stolen a lot of technology over the years. Think about those Wing Lights indicator things. The guys must have spent years developing them and getting the funding to put them into production. Finally announced in the market at £29.99. A few weeks later, the Chinese have made an...

    China Bashing

My granddad's last words to me before he died at 99 years old, were, "Come over here my son. Never trust a Chinaman". They're not as sinister as they seem. When he was younger, he used to tell legthy stories about his adventures in China. they had all sorts of twists and turns, but the moral at...

    Woosh Rio rear wheel question.

Clean and lubricate the rear derailleur, then oil the chain. The problem is caused by friction in the derailleur that pulls it forward and takes all the tension off the bottom chain run. When everything is free-running, it stays in position and keeps the tension on the chain. Watch the...

    New Electric bike battery required

There's nothing wrong with your battery if you were able to use it for a couple of days. Some batteries need to be switched on to charge. If that's not it, get a voltmeter to measure the charger and battery, then you'll know where to look for the cause. Don't look at new batteries or chargers...

    Power cutting out

I don't have any experience of these batteries, but I know how most ebike systems work. I think it would be worth opening the battery to see whether it has additional wires on the connector. If it doesn't, at least you know that it's not a battery problem. If it does, you can decide what to do...

    BBC man tries Swytch conversion

A lot depends on the style and weight of the bike. Front wheel motors aren't bad on Dutch style bikes, but you can feel a big difference on light hybrid or road bike. A battery on the handlebars adds to the problem. It gives you a slight pendulum affect on the steering. None of these things are...

EBay or Aliexpress has them. Search for frog battery. You should be able to get one with a lot more capacity. You need to tell us the voltage if you want an exact recommendation.

    kamal

The control panel and the motor controller work together as a set, and you have to buy them as a set. A controller with an LCD panel will cost from £40 for one that works up to ££70 for one with a very nice control system. I think I've seen controllers with the panel you indicated for as low as...

    Power cutting out

It's already been shown that the battery isn't cutting off, so A BMS problem isn't very likely, but if it turns out that the battery has got comms, then maybe it's telling the controller to stop rather than cutting out. I think it's worth opening the battery to see what's connected. If it's got...

    Gtech battery

That sounds about right. If you have a typical 15 amp controller, that would drain the battery at up to 600W and last about 20 minutes. A 5 mile hill at 10 mph is going to take 30 minutes, so you did pretty well to have half you battery left.
