    Help! Ideas please

The dapu motor is pretty good and quite powerful. It's a decent controller that you need to get the best out of it. You can upgrade a 17A KT controller and LCD, which will add power as well as make the motor run smooth and quiet. Get the speed sensor as well just to be sure. The whole lot will...

It costs £378 or less to fit a towbar to your car. https://www.towbarexpress.co.uk/towbars/ford-towbars/ford-b-max-towbars/ You can get a very good towbar bike rack for £150...

    Speed Re-strictor removal

I'd change to a KT controller and LCD, which is better than a Li Shui and you can set it to whatever you want. You also get an option to fit a throttle.

    Coyote connect

If the display goes off, the battery connection has been interrupted. Follow the wires from the battery to the controller to find where the faulty connection is. It's normally the bullet connectors, thou can be a bad solder joint on the back of the receiver or anywhere else.

Don't let it wear through at the back. Add a piece of fibreglass or similar to protect it.

    Battery ageing question.

It's gone out of balance. Best would be to open it and balance it manually.

    Cyclotricity kit derestrictions

A 53v battery will get you up to 30 mph and a 60V battery and controller will get you up to 34 mph, otherwise you need to get a faster wound motor. You'll need a 45 amp controller to get to the speed you want, and for that you'd need a special battery.

1000 miles done on Crossfuse E

This will last you a lifetime. You can get it in 1L bottles from Halfords or any car parts shop. It's standard gearbox oil that's in nearly every car. Ask for Hypoid 90 gear oil. Any brand will do. Hypoid 80 is more common these days. It's just a bit less viscous. 80 is OK, but 90 is better...

    Battery not charging.

Check the charge fuse, which is most likely under the handle. You lift the handle to see it. No voltage on the charge port indicates that either the fuse is blown or a wire has come off the back of the connector. The former is much more likely than the latter. The charge fuse is 5 amps.

    New to Pedelecs.

Please show a photo of your whole bike and a separate one of the handlebars, in particular showing the middle bit where they're clamped. You don't need to fit exactly the same ones. there are lots of equivalent ones.

You can adapt normal bikes/ebikes to fit in a car. 1000 miles done on Crossfuse E

I tried some of these modern lubricants because everybody was ranting about them on various forums. The White Lightening accumulated in my derailleur along with a load of grit to make a nice grinding paste. It took me ages to cean it all out. The other stuff made zero difference as far as I...

Help! Bosch error code 530 sudden power shutdowns

I only threw it out there as a possibility for consideration. I'm not saying it's the cause. The Bosch software has all sorts of logic in it. I wouldn't be surprised if it showed up a speed sensor error under some circumstances when you're using a Badass. Your display showed speed sensor error...

1000 miles done on Crossfuse E

I used to do a much higher mileage than that. I never cleaned my chains and I rarely lubricated them either. I never had to replace a chain nor a sprocket. The bikes did around 2000 miles each before they were replaced with the next project. My present bike has done 6000 miles, and I replaced...

    Direct drive growl, normal?

It's the commutation that you're hearing. The controller is firing pulses of power at the motor, which basically knock the motor round. It's not so fierce with a sine wave controller, but still noticeable at low speed, when the frequency is low. DD motors commutate at a lower frequency than...

Help! Bosch error code 530 sudden power shutdowns

He said he was climbing. His dongle won't help for that. Say he was doing a reasonable 6 mph up a steep climb. His dongle would tell the Bosch that he was only doing 3 mph. It's not how fast he was actually going, it's how fast the Bosch thinks he's going, which is half his actual speed.

1000 miles done on Crossfuse E

I wouldn't take it there again. I guess if you'd asked to see the wear, they would have pointed out the irregular shaped teeth. I would expect a chain to last about 4,000 miles on a bike like that, and the cassette double that.

    Help! Numb Hands

Different handlebars will probably help, but there's no formula to find the right ones, but I guess that the more relaxed your arms are, the less likely it would happen. It's caused by body position. Something puts pressure on the nerves that run to your hands. I think it happens under your...
