    Charging electric cars

Which reminds me of one reason I didn't go down the electric route when I last bought a car. They offered a home charger, not now sure about installation cost, but I was anticipating moving house. They were unwilling to even consider a deferred home charger installation, or a second installation...

    Charging electric cars

If claims were so rare, it would cost them next to nothing to maintain that extra year. And they would continue to look good for offering it. I suspect the number of claims and costs to them are higher than they are admitting.

Thoughts about this comment placed on the embn fb page.

The giving way to pedestrians and persons on horse back is odd wording - implies you do not have to give way to a horse that is not being ridden. Yes - to the person leading it, if there is one, but not to the horse.

any impressions on the Carrera Crossfuse (or the Bosch Active Line Plus)?

Been there a few times recently :-) - but bought my bike elsewhere. Yes, the staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Agreed 100% about SSD. Both in an iMac - which changed from almost unbearably slow to perfectly usable. And in my experience of hundreds of Windows PCs. Having an SSD as boot drive and a spinning disc to provide greater capacity works well if you make sure you never fill up C: - perhaps not for...

You could, of course, set your network connection to be Metred. That restricts the downloading of updates - to some extent. Did you download the Fall Creators Update - that is pretty huge. I think some updates recently have been reissued more than once.

These boots were made for ...

Are they, as they appear, ordinary wellies? I think my ordinary rubber wellies would be uncomfortable up my shins. It was the softer neoprene that decided me on buying these ones. I'll be very happy if I ever get to the point of claiming 6K miles. (And cats don't seem so keen on running.)

fishing. https://www.aldi.co.uk/crane-neoprene-boots/p/081319192226500 But that's not what they are going to do. Them is my new cycling boots. :-) Got them on Thursday and used them several times. Coming home today, spray/drizzle, and rapidly dropping temperature - my feet were bone dry...

Do you let friends have a go?

Today, being a nicer day by far, one of the other two who had expressed an interest had a go. Very, very impressed with uphill start and round the block. And with the full suspension. Then the third person, who had been looking somewhat reluctant, also had a go. Similarly impressed. This time, I...

Hi old timer here, need for an assisted power?

That must have been very disappointing. Why was it recalled?

    Brexit, for once some facts.

You know how that fruit that got left in the fruit bowl a bit too long seems to deliquesce into a wet slime? And thick mould grows on top. Amazing how that happens even if it was rebartatively unripe when placed there.

    Ebikes are so old school!

In my list of unread posts, your post was just about next to "Motor cuts out after start up" - which would be rather more serious on a Flyboard.

No brexit and no conservative government? Sounds good to me... ;)

Do you let friends have a go?

One of the people who works in the same place as me is a keen cyclist - first day he was in after I got my ebike I let him have a go. Was head-down working so didn't even see him going off. No problem at all.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Was just discussing park and ride and buses. To get to Tenby is an hour and a half on a bus. Against 40 minutes by car using the slowest route offered by Google. The choice ends up spending an inordinate time on the trip if using the bus, having parking problems if using the car, or - what we...

    The wind, it doth blow

I was caught in very cold and heavy rain on the way home last night. Wouldn't have been so bad, but it was pretty dry as I started cycling, so had not bothered putting on the waterproofs...

    The wind, it doth blow

Mightily. Currently around 50 mph, tomorrow about 60 mph. (But knowing the forecasts, could easily be up or down at least 10 mph.) What wind speed do you duck out of cycling? I really noticed it this evening - definitely harder going and pushing sideways. I'm well aware of issues like falling...

    Am I too sensitive

I try, hard, to obey whatever the law is regarding transport! Largely as a matter of self-preservation and (hopefully) common decency. Pretty darned sure I regularly fail, though. :-(
