    Oxygen Scross MTB ongoing review

Some BMSs take their power from only one cell, so they go out of balance if you don't use them much. you can't reset it. you have to rebalance manually. The first stage is to check is pull the multi-pin connector out of the BMS and check the cell voltages on it.

How do I deal with abusive customers?

What about mentioning this forum. It can help in two ways. Before you completely fall out with each other, suggest that they ask on here what's a reasonable solution. Secondly, if you tell them that you have a good reputation on the pedelecs forum, they might come here first to try and trash...

Woman hit by Cyclist awarded a payout

That's terrible. Do we now need to ride near the centre of the road to avoid pedestrians jumping in front of us for compensation? I wonder if the guy will counter-sue her for his own injuries and the trauma of his court case.

Avoid any with automatic gearboxes unless you can find a low mileage one and don't plan to do many miles.

    Bafang pedal sensor issue

Get yourself the cheapest 5 magnet pedal sensor. They're the most reliable and most compatible sensors. I don't why people bother with these fancy ones that are nothing but trouble. If you show us exactly what you have, it would be easier to diagnose your problem. we've got no idea what you've...

Shimano Steps E8000 - Pedal Resistance

That's not normal, and I've not heard of it before. Two possibilities I can think of. firstly, a pedal bearing needs attention. that's pretty easy to test by spinning the pedals. Secondly, something has got caught behind the chainwheel. Unclip the chain from the chainwheel and drop it out the...

    Battery capacity running down

Conditioning cycles don't work on lithium batteries for Ebikes. There is a possibility that your battery is out of balance. You can check that by measuring the voltage on the terminals or charge port immediately after disconnecting it from the charger. A 36v battery should be 42.0V and a 48v...

Wisper Help with Wisper 906XC motor

All motors work more or less the same. You can replace a Dapu motor with a Bafang one, or better still a Q100H, which is lighter and quieter, or any motor you can find on Aliexpress or wherever.

    StoreDot Batteries

This part in that article is completely wrong for ebike batteries: "Li-ion does not need to be fully charged as is the case with lead acid, nor is it desirable to do so. In fact, it is better not to fully charge because a high voltage stresses the battery. Choosing a lower voltage threshold or...

    Changed Commute - Super Soco?

That seems an awful lot of hassle and expense just to get a stamp on a piece of paper. I would doubt whether the dealer has the special equipment needed to check the electrics on that bike, so what's he done that you couldn't do yourself? When you want to buy something like that, it's much...

Battery indicator shows empty after short distance

It sounds like your battery is OK to me. If it wasn't, the LCD would go off. Check the bullet connectors for the motor on the controller. Make sure they're nice and tight. Also, check that the connector near the motor is pressed all the way in to the line.

    Battery selection question

The 500w kits normally have 22 amp controllers, and if it's a direct drive motor, it'll be drawing the maximum current a lot of the time. If you use Samsung 30Q cells and a 30 amp BMS, you should be OK with a 3P battery, but it won't give you much range. It's true capacity will be around 7.5Ah...

Has anyone got a oxydrive controller

Where about do you live? If you're going to change the battery and controller, it might be better to go to 48v, which will give you a lot more power and speed, if that's what you want. the motor can handle it easily, and, of course, you don't have to use high power and speed all the time, but...

Pedalease 1500w kit NOT running at 1500w please help p

It would be best to run around 600 to 700 watts. If it's the controller, you can fix it to get more power for emergency use, like occasional steep hills, but you shouldn't run at continuous high power. It wouldn't surprise me if the battery has a 25 amp (1200w) BMS, so you might find that it...

Has anyone got a oxydrive controller

Look at the tubular connector terminals in the battery to see if they're burnt, and then look at the pins on the receiver for signs of pitting. If they're burnt, the best solution is to remove the two connector blocks, unsolder the wires, then solder on a standard connector, like a deans or XT60...

Pedalease 1500w kit NOT running at 1500w please help p

Batteries that look the same aren't necessarily the same. Look at the listing for your one. It clearly states the rated current as 15 amps, which is 720W. Also, you can't go by what cells they say are in it. when you open the battery, you often see something entirely different. I'm not...
