    Ridiculous battery prices

That's Bosch for you, all German products are expensive. Many good e-bikes have lower battery prices. However, the e-car and e-bike markets for batteries cannot be compared. The car makers are working with governments to popularise e-cars and encourage much bigger takeup. To do that the...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I don't just rely on one source and know this to be far from entirely true. For example, Lidl have come under fierce criticism for the way they are forcing delivery drivers from supplying companies to work for them unpaid. They insist they have to use the store's fork lifts etc to unload the...

As I've posted before, she is Thatcher mark 2, stubbornly ignoring everyone in the certainty that only she can be right. .

    L1e-A testing requirements

Agreed, but it won't change what happens in practice, which is that virtually none will go though MSVA with kit bikes, hence my defence tip to minimise the chance of serious consequences if ever caught. Remember that the great majority of e-bikes were obviously illegally used in the UK between...

General News Sales of e-bikes overtake the traditional city pushbike in the Netherlands

That's around eight times our UK sales to a little over a quarter of our population. One new pedelec per 41 of the Dutch population, against our one new pedelec per 1300 of the British population. But there's lots more cycle helmets sold here! Somehow I think we have our priorities all wrong. .

    L1e-A testing requirements

None of those. Nothing will ever happen to anyone with a throttle equipped bike in normal circumstances if they are riding reasonably on an otherwise legal pedelec. The only time it might just crop up is after an accident and a particularly zealous traffic officer is investigating, but even...

Indeed, confidence and trust take years to build, but days to lose. They will see that we are no longer the same stable and reliable country we once were. .

Here it's a question of space, something that organisation needs enough of. None of the builders merchants I know of in South London have anything like enough to properly organise. It's just a case of making do in very difficult circumstances. I think you'd be staggered just how awkward it...

I'd rather get there much faster! I've got a car with many of these capabilities and have suffered the sudden unexpected braking in various circumstances, the loss of lane placement on motorways due to camera dazzle, so I'm very aware of the limitations. Google themselves own up to the...

Not on our unaltered roads though, and certainly not for all the purposes that we use our vehicle for. No self-drive car will ever be able to visit the builders merchants yard I've used frequently to collect stuff, for a whole host of reasons. That's why they will always have manual controls...

Of course, but putting down cables and signalling traffic lights isn't the self reliance I was commenting on. And I'm not underestimating transducer limitations. Having plenty of experience on advanced optical systems I well understand the limitations of optical recognition. And radar has...

I don't trust those figures which come from the interested parties. What I do know is that in demonstration after demonstration, the driver has had to grab back control at one point at least, and the honest companies are admitting to problems they find very difficult to solve. Bicycles...

I disagree, they will have very limited self reliance and will depend heavily on major infrastructure changes. Even with those in place they will still have to have a set of human overriding controls to be able to complete all the functions that vehicles carry out today. This whole vehicle...

    more of this please

I think Geoff probably means the separated cycle tracks, where when one meets a side road of any sort, one has to stop and wait for the traffic using the side road, just as pedestrians do. .

    Cargo-Bike selfmade

Congratulations Frank, very neat and smart job. A pity that transport pushes up the cost of such bikes, since I'm sure it would be well received in the European cargo bike markets like Denmark and The Netherlands. .
