    Mid drive

If you read the paper glued to your average Chinese controller it will say "rated current" or "maximum current" or both. Like 250 W motors the "nominative" or "rated" are there for compliance, what the actual maximum output is is left to the manufacturers discretion. My choice is a 16 Amp...

Cyclamatic: The Beastamatic is dead! Long live the Beastamatic

What amperage is your chargeur? That is the number of amps you will get through the charger port, or, you will blow the fuse trying to pump more than it can handle.

Winter safety. Dark nights, lights, tips and tricks.

A reflective vest is required on the road here by law after sunset. Funny thing is I already was wearing one before I had to. Mine is a cheap nylon one but I don't mind because I am always wearing it over something more comfortable or over my rain gear.

    Indicators

As I am mounting lights powered from the battery for this winter I thought I might mount indicators. The tiny LED ones found on motorbikes and scooters. Using the same cable run as the main lights. I would prefer them mounted on the mirror so that they fold out of the way but either side of the...

    Why Derailleurs gears?

I use an Acera and can't see the need for anything more "high end". Checking just now I have come across over a half dozen different versions of the Tourney varying in price from 6€ up to 14€ (same price as Acera) so you may not be talking about the same Tourney...

    The new best headlight

I regularly ride at 30 mph (translating from 50 km/h because I've forgotten mph) in the pitch black of night (trees, no moon) with my b+m on high beam. Wunderbar is a word that springs to mind...

Winter safety. Dark nights, lights, tips and tricks.

Ummm, ain't even the end of summer yet! Autumn still to go, you know, Indian Summer and all that. We are in the hottest year on record BTW (14 consecutive record months actually). Just for info today is the first day of a three day heat wave which will be followed by thunders storms and...

Surprising how quick these Brexit price rises have happened

http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Cave-troll But a troll is someone who posts looking for trouble, trolling other users hence my reference to fishing. My preferred method actually, if I don't catch anything the reply to that question is "no didn't go fishing, went rowing".

Surprising how quick these Brexit price rises have happened

You need to read "The Hobbit" my friend! Trolls don't like sunlight. But I think it refers to the fishing technique which consists of dragging a long line with lures on the end behind a boat until you catch something. In $US, that is all they accept.

Ezee Forza vs A2B Obree vs Winora Radius

No not legal where you live but I was just imagining being pushed to 45 km/h on 20" wheels. For the range you want the Winora should be able to provide that.

Ezee Forza vs A2B Obree vs Winora Radius

I love the Radius! No wonder it won a design award. The Bosch system is light years from what you knew, test ride any Bosch bike to get an idea of the motor power delivery. Winora make an s-pedelec version of the Radius!!!

A 36 V battery will fix your problem if the controller can handle 36 V.

    Our replacement for the EU?

God I'm getting old... But since I have lived my whole adult life in the EU I have become out of touch with what the Commonwealth is now I suppose. I will have to take an Englishman's word that "it is better now". My fear is that many living in the UK have the same old view of the...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Mike don't tell us you have been living in a parallel universe these last few years? They will do anything to preserve power / money including crime. Correct on both counts. Those of you who have the means and who do see eye to eye already have property here, some a vacation home and others...

    Trading up ... to what?

The Electron+ looks OK, well equipped. Some people think the Steps motor is a little soft. It would be a better balanced bike with the battery on the down tube, you could still get your foot through.
