    Changing from hub to crank

My vote is for a Giant with a Yamaha motor.

Kudos K16 and 15 mph throttle

You knew I was pulling your leg a wee bit Dave? Yes the design of those bikes isn't bad but the devil is in the details: look at the rats nest of cables! You spend all that time integrating the battery into the frame and the screen into the headlight then you go and put all those cables...

Kudos K16 and 15 mph throttle

Gtech is looking after the younger riders so you are doing retro kitsch for the oldies... :p I am still waiting on the 21st century e-bike that will blow my socks off. The Gazelle is close:

Mid-Motor - highest assist level and no speed restriction - battery life

I'm working on that... First of all I have the controller set up to always turn on in Level 1 - that has all but cured it. Next step drop the internal PAS for external.

    Quick Release or bolted axle

I have QR front and rear. I also have a frame lock which I use religiously so that some jerk doesn't just walk away with it and I chain the front wheel. It has made my on road repair kit so much lighter - no more spanners!

Ok uphill. What about down hill?

What brakes does it have? You don't need disk brakes, a Magura hydraulic front v-brake will stop a train. I thought the Agattu already had those? If so you need to change the pads and set them up correctly. I have no problems stopping my bike from 60 km/h and it weighs a lot more than I hoped...

Getting ready for the 2016 Swiss Alps trip.

Because they sell them by the dozen probably. Remember they make direct drive motors with regen for a reason!

    BBC - Blatant Bullshine Company......?

When I arrived in London I met a couple of guys in the CID and I can confirm they weren't beyond reproach. Lets just say we had a gentlemans agreement... The BBC looks very neutral from the outside because it is compared to Fox and CNN.

    Bike tool kit?.

I bought this one because I had nothing http://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/velomann-tool-case-tool-max-26195/wg_id-354 And a thin wall freewheel tool which it didn't have.

    Accessories - battery bag

If only you saw how I have been treating my battery recently you wouldn't worry so much. And I have been leaving it unlocked on the bike since I changed bikes... The only risk you have is of a short circuit the case is built to withstand environments much harsher than the interior of a rucksack!

    New Gtech ebike

As soon as the battery gets to about 32.5 V there is basically nothing left in it and at 31.5 V it is empty. My guess is if you put a multimeter on your battery at 50% it will be showing about 34-35 V so not far from Li-Ion cliff. You and the battery are doing very well!

    Embarrassment

Ooouff! 9.3 miles I am almost in the danger zone :p And only half of it is uphill! :D OK enough being cheeky. Hills and wind are just as important as distance, my just under 10 miles include a 2.5 mile climb (and several shorter ones). Pace yourself. My new bike has brought me into the world of...

Clacking noise - Kalkhoff Impulse 2 motor

Tern to Introduce Electric Folding Bike

My GSM / Muddy Fox eBike build

I have changed controllers and the motor seems to prefer the no name 14 A controller to the 09 bottle battery one. No more run on, more and smoother power delivery (a mystery - 14 A vs 18 A...). And I have traded speed for comfort, I must be feeling my age! Top speed downhill is...

    E-cargo bikes (UrbanArrow vs Bakfiets.nl)?

I really wish these were around when my kids were young, I am jealous! I have the project to build a cargo trike for carrying a passenger (human or labrador depending on context). I like trikes because you put the brake on and get off without worrying about it falling over. It is also two...

They look like very nice bikes. Unknown here of course.

    BBS02 on a cargo bike.

Missing word in front of heavy "very". Day before yesterday I went to the supermarket and back with no battery (end of charge 200 meters from home on the way out). 7 km with a 25 kg bike and 46:28 on the steep bits made me run off and order a 12-32 cassette at the LBS as soon as I got home. And...

VSF Fahrradmanufatur P-1000 v. Stromer ST1 vs Decathlon Riverside

That Decathlon is interesting, there are many other German specific models on the site I discover. I was looking at the Hoprider 520 as a host bike for a kit but there was too much stuff to remove and replace. Germany only, probably because of the price. The frames are very good (mine is made...
