E-Roadies looking a lot less unconventional

The Quick-e has mudguards and pannier racks, much more useful... Back in the day I had just a bag on the bars with a tyre repair kit and not much else and the bike weighed about 10 kg iirc. Now I need rain gear a shopping bag, obligatory reflective vest, helmet if I cross the border more tools...

I'm looking to buy an Oxygen S-Cross CB

Confused RobF: it has a freewheel hub or a cassette hub? Freewheel screw on gears can be hard to remove is that what you mean? On any e-bike the first thing I would do now is upgrade the front brake to hydraulics. If it is a road commuter/trekking bike you only need a front hydraulic brake...

dealers price for a 500w bosch battrey

I can't find it any more but a Dutch online shop was selling 17 Ah (612 W) HL cased Samsung celled 36 V batteries for 599€. All tax included. There you see the real difference between perceived value (Bosch) and real value of a battery pack.

    New project trike

Short answer: Physics. When you corner the weight is carried to the front outside wheel. When you don't have one you fall over. When you do have one in most casses the rear wheel will lose traction and slide before you go over the front outside wheel. With a high CG tadpole it will be easier to...

Today first ride with LiPo power  <- me  <- various car drivers No GPS but from experience speeds in excess of 40 km/h attained in very few seconds. Maybe an s-pedelec isn't such a bad idea after all... Now I am really hankering for a 32 Ah pack.

Came across this in my search for a 2 seater Pedelec

SW has ordered his because he saw it was made of hemp... An elf like trike not very original. I would like to see one that is more recumbant for more aerodynamics and more efficient pedaling.

Best kit for hill climbing with no pedalling?

Look at this one instead it will need a battery too: http://www.pandaebikes.com/product/xiongda-double-speed-motor-ebike-electric-bike-kit-48v-350w-disc-brake/ You will be adding 6 kg to your bike no matter what, I find it to be heavy but then I used to ride second hand Tour de France bikes...

Kudos K16 and 15 mph throttle

That is what the designers should be working on: getting the cables out of the way while easing maintenance. Cable spirals are much better looking than cable ties. On that particular bike it is the multiplication of cables, there are just too many and very badly tied together. Brakes and gears...

Mid-Motor - highest assist level and no speed restriction - battery life

I'm getting between 40 and 50 km with the GSM "unrestricted". It is in fact cadence restricted so by pedaling slowly I get more assist in any gear. Up to 45km/h...

I like the overall design for a modern step-through. Geared hub or mid motor required though. Thumbs up for: Single key Headlight console integration Battery compartment

    Changing from hub to crank

It is in the window at my LBS, I'll get a loto ticket tomorrow... If I had a normal job I wouldn't hesitate a second and pay for it over 36 months = 75 € a month. The double chainring is the clincher, around here very handy.

    Congratulations Chris Froome

And you have Yates as best young rider too! And to the runner up, it has been a while since a young French rider has been up there on the podium.
