Case studies - how has your electric bike changed your life?

Its quite easy to learn how to maintain a wheel with broken spokes and truing it up if you are willing to apply your self, then you are non reliant on trying to find an LBS to do the work. In my years of owning bicycles since about age 10 (now 56) I have never had to take a one to a LBS for...

Thinking of converting my commuting bike - questions and advice

BMSBattery sell a TS hub BB bracket kit to use with original cranks if sq tapered is used, it comes with a specific KT controller with software programmed for the TS. Also there is a similar kit on Aliexpress where the vendor also sells replacement controllers. With the TS kits you can't use a...

Help! Motor spins, but thats all.

A correct display will work whether you use sinewave or squarewave controller as with most advice, it is always best to buy the display and controller as a matched pair if buying new or at least using components from the same producer.

My 2 x10 gravel bike only had a 11-34 cassette and the gearing wasn't low enough so I added a 42t cassette, the derailleur didn't have the capacity to handle the 42t so it needed extending to allow good changing. I used a Wolf tooth copy and didn't need to do much except adjust the B/stop...

Help! Motor spins, but thats all.

You are trying to use a Luishi controller with a KT LCD they are not compatible when it comes to the communication protocols , you need a KT controller for it to work 100% or Luishi LCD. Although the display works and shows the various parameters etc, the issue is in the programming of the...

Where an I buy a HL xl charge port?

You may have to diy bodge it Kirstin and doubt you will get a grommet insert for it without robbing a broken case. You could use a bit of epoxy fibreglass sheet (0.5mm - 1mm thick) you can buy it in yellow or Black, then glue it in place with Gorilla epoxy on the inside or outside of the top...

Op could if capable and with in reason manage the job him self by upturning the bike and trueing the wheel in situ once spokes have been replaced. The wheel doen't need lacing just a case of measuring a good spoke order some new ones and replace them with a bit of manipulation. When only...

Woosh Advice requested - powering e-bike lights

Never been without lights when lvc has been reached as voltage is still plenty to run lights , voltage also rebounds to ensure voltage climbs above lvc and riding unassisted in PAS 0 to get home if need be. I usually only use PAS level 2 so load on battery is low at about 2- 5a max or less then...

Woosh rear hub kit (XF08C cassette freehub)

Be careful with cable ties and they aren't so tight that they pinch the wire outer to tight as you can then also cause damage to the smaller internal wires. I only use Velcro for fastening leccy wiring.

If using a 46t cassette you will probably need a derailleur extender like a Wolf tooth road link or the copy version from SJS Cycles, your derailleur I doubt will be able to handle the extra tooth count without one added. This cassette come with one...

Try looking for a battery fuse if the screen doesn't turn on as the battery voltage is not getting through or look for damaged wiring.

    Recommend me some nice gloves

The lobster carnac glove is very warm as K has mentioned you will need at least the next size up as they are as tight as hell to get on. I used the glove guide on PlanetX and bought the L size still to small to get on easily. For under gloves you need silk ski ones which are light and very warm...

Woosh Advice requested - powering e-bike lights

Wiring doesn't need to be very thick, thin 24 awg is plenty, unless you have lights that are amp thirsty. All good awg is 300 - 400v capable, the gauge thickness is for carrying the load and I doubt many lights will carry more then 1a.

    Advice on 3 bikes

Splitting hairs a bit here, all e-bikes are PAS assist. For dodgy knees or lack of stamina /leg power you need a cadence system over a torque system, cadence system allows you to ghost pedal whilst being able to easily ride along. For a cadence system you are looking for a geared hub bike...

    Bosch CEO's prediction

Knowing how Bosch operate if they bought a hub out, you probably would need to make a special tool to open one and you would for sure have to cut any motor connector off and carry out a bit of splicing and soldering.
