Pedelecs frum makes me feel sick

I'm waiting on the money for Number Two, any day now... Executive summary: first bike will be torn apart for useful bits + GSM, external controller, big lipo battery. Missing as well as motor: cassette, rear brake, rear wheel, tyres and tubes, chain and mudguards (it rains a lot...

    Suspension seatpost

Rose is slightly more expensive and you have to pay for port (free for orders over 100€ at bike discount) but they have some exotic things that bikediscount don't stock, that is where I go if I can't find it at bikediscount. Their service is just as good.

    L1e-A testing requirements

Petrol powered mopeds don't have motor cut-off switches, they have throttles that work and clutches that work, I have never heard of an accident caused by stuck throttle on a moped. And boy do they often use WOT!

    L1e-A testing requirements

Sounds like a good reason to not mount a throttle... When I see the brakes mounted to those cheap 600€ supermarket pedelecs it scares me.

    L1e-A testing requirements

The only way of that ever happening is a mechanical throttle sticking open. If electronics fail you lose power there is no way a short can provide WOT.

A 30mph crash fatality in something not tested or safe..

Pedal reflectors are quite useful at night... OK so now we have the obligatory safety vest outside city limits law here. Last time I rode back from the city I had a big smile because every singly car that passed me changed lanes to do so. Much safer riding at night than during the day. And with...

    Haibike copy

Copy is the highest form of flattery. You could build the same for slightly less and use an HL battery but the paint wouldn't be as pretty.

Welcome! I see you haven't been to the Basque Country yet  There are many electric folders about or you could convert your current one if you have the DIY skills.

Legal /illegal debate - proposal for a better forum

One of the problems is the law trying to blanket cover many different uses in many different situations. You can use a legal bike irresponsibly and be a public danger just as many use an illegal bike responsibly respecting other users of the road. I don't ride the same way in town as I do on...

    gearing

On the road I moved from 42 to 48 on a 26" wheel bike it is night and day I feel much better. Your preferred cadence is another factor to take into account. A single chainring and 11-32 or 11-34 should do the trick. Front chainring size dependant on whether you ride off-road and need climbing...

    BBS01 niggles

I think the battery meters rely on voltage so if you look at the voltage curve of a lipo pack you will see why the bars behave that way. At least you don't have much sag affecting things like Li-ion. Maybe your speed sensor has a 40 mph cap?

Next electric bike - illegal DIY!?

Most EU countries have a 45 km/h speed limit on mopeds. If you go through a speed trap at over that your bike could come under some very careful scrutiny and another fine would complete the speed limit one... I like the idea except for the battery box being up so high (I am presuming...

    kt-lcd1

C1 is where you change the number of magnets your PAS uses, I changed from 8 to 12 so I have modified that setting. I have also modified C5 to controller max current -3 Amps = 12 Amps.
