    New Bars

Yes, 215mm to weld joint of the clamp bar. No issue with road bends. I rode the Downs link for about 12 miles to Shoreham and a bit of S/Downs nr Falmer to the Winkie Mills (Jack & Jill), no issues with ride control/steering and certainly no leg contact on my Boardman 700c.

Advice on ebike conversion kit for 30mile commute

Bafang hubs are generally reliable, I have a BPM & CST no major issues . Like wise the Yose no issues and made by Bafang Afaik. You will need 48v and about 270/300 rpm winding code 10 or 11 for a sustained 20 - 24 mph.

    LCD S866 + Brainpower controller

You have to look at the motor wire connection from the hub or it's connection to the controller. Does it have only 3 thick wires an unsensored hub for a square wave controller or 3 thick wires and 5 or 6 thinner hall wires a sensored hub for a sinewave controller. Show us a good pic of the motor...

Can you upgrade motor on an ebike?

A battery with more ah will only give you more range and hold the voltage a bit higher for longer, if you need more boost /pep then you have to look at battery and controller upgrade. Motor wise the SWX02 is a capable beast, only the original CST or BPM hub will be more robust. Other geared hubs...

Woman hit by Cyclist awarded a payout

Generally as with much with these incident's a lot of hype/knee jerk reaction to an event, but more understanding of the case shows the rider was not compromising in any way to giving way, slowing down or stopping. His perception/anticipation of what laid ahead looks to be that he had right of...

    New Bars

Riding gate is more upright with a wider arm stance, the arm/wrist position just feels more natural and comfy. The steering/riding style changes to a more relaxed luxurious style, probably comparing a change from Ford to a Roller or similar up market ride for comfort. With the generous sweep...

    New Bars

The natural arm /hand geometry just feels right with these fitted , the bars are quite wide at 720mm though you can always chop them off by about 50mm each side. I have another one on order for my 700c errand/commute bike and eventually may even get one for my mtb if and when I get a new mid...

    New Bars

AK I have been looking in to two wheel bent's but as you know boy the price of even used one, comfort I keep reading is unequalled. I have seen the usual offerings ideally if I was to go for one, thinking one with the same wheels probably 24" with option to use wider tyres up to 2.25". Plus...

Advice on ebike conversion kit for 30mile commute

The Aikema 128 hub is used by Wisper and I believe Juicy on their bikes. 20 miles is enough for keeping your sanity esp in conditions when it is cold and wet. Someone like Kirstin may validate this as he cycles all year round to work not 20 miles but enough for his input. My brother uses a...

    New Bars

Tried out my new bars today on a 73 mile jaunt. Beautiful no numbness and comfortable to ride. PlanetX On one Geoff bars £25, a fraction of the price of Jones H bars. Parked up next to the sleeping dragon, not gold so not Smaug.
