    Experimenter

Damn you now I'm going to have to get back into doing some 3D... I haven't done anything since this: Notice how it is rendered in bristol? :D Nothing like being able to pick your 3D model up in your hand and look at it from all angles. The design was done in a freeware called Carene50.

    New Gtech ebike

You should be able to charge that up to 41.5 and get 232.4 Wh back out which would give me on my geared bike with my riding style and input about 34 odd km range. If it has quality Panasonc, LG or Samsung cells inside...

    Home made pedelec/pedal torque sensor

I don't have a white lab coat! (I envy your technical expertise Si) But since last June I learnt a lot about riding a pedelec and building in the right components and have my method for smooth starting and general good riding experience: 1. always use the right gear (yes even with a...

    New Gtech ebike

What is an "average rider"? I contend that riders fall into different groups and that one bike does not fit all. I started out on a single speed bike on hilly gravel roads (lucky me my three uncles were bachelors when I was 12 years old :)) . I wouldn't be able to ride on that now. So even...

Ok, so I'm perhaps jumping right in here but here goes..

I found a copy of EN 15194 online in China  I know, naughty boy I should have shelled out monies to the standards bodies I mean we paid for the making of the norm it is only natural that we should pay again to actually see it... Unfortunately it doesn't have the A+ 2012 annexes. EDIT: I...

???? scratching my head here. PAS is cheap when compared to a torque sensor less than £4 for the luxury 12 magnet version I just installed. Complexity as in take left crank off, unscrew BB ring, fit PAS sensor rescrew BB ring, slide PAS disk on and refit crank. Plug PAS wire into controller...

    Accelerator and new law question

Japan does not have much wide open road that is for sure... And that is where the EU lawmakers were short sighted. There are parts of rural France where little old ladies still ride several kilometres to town on market day. OK there were a lot more when I first arrived here I must admit. The...

    Tthoughts on this kit?

You have spot welded several already then? Not being flippant just curious, I can see a spot welder further on down the line for myself.

I read the Chingrish again and on the KT-LCD3 there is a start-up password setting at C9. It looks like it prevents the user from riding off before entering a password. Could be a reasonable casual theft prevention measure.

    Tthoughts on this kit?

I would have thought you couldn't go much cheaper than a Woosh hub kit. By the time you factor in transport and import duties etc it doesn't look like such a good deal. Is it a toy or is it a tool? Building your own battery from used cells is fine if you aren't worried about reliability and range.

Maybe I have misunderstood the Chinglish the instructions are written in? On the LCD-3 does the password prevent you from getting to all the configuration screens? I was under the impression (probably false) that it protected the two advanced levels of configuration.

    Helmets @ Aldi

I went to Sweden and many years later met some Swedish people and when I said the weather was so nice during our trip they said "Ah! You were there in 1979"... :p

You know that Barcelona isn't in Spain any more don't you? A bit like Britain and the EU  Did they have number plates? If so then they are registered as mopeds. People weren't wearing helmets? Well if the police really want to they could fine the rider 200€ (100€ if you pay within a...

Raleigh Motus or Kalkhoff Agattu 7G?

Maybe you should look at the AGATTU B8 HS The Impulse motor does not have good press around here several forum members have had problems. The Nexus Inter 8 is also better than the 7 speed version because it uses more and better bearings easing shifting.

No, start assist throttle is not legal, yes walk along is. All the French, Italian and Spanish web shops sell throttles, I guess that if they have them in stock people are mounting them. The shops do kindly point out that the throttles are illegal on the open road, how nice of them! French...
