    New BB 2 speed drive

Come ride around Hendaye a bit with me. Or Errenteria  Some places just need that extended range - a nice big cog for downhill and flats and a small cog for some of the climbs. Pinion gives that range. In a special frame for more weight. Or you can have a front derailleur for less cost and...

From Zephyr to Big Bear maybe?

I'm going to save the Ogre!

Do you have a brand name for such a bicycle? Most German bikes have German, Swiss or Japanese motors.

Accident with a pedestrian on my ebike

Easter meant the start of the tourist season and I am once again among the fastest vehicles from point a to point b! Only mopeds and motorbikes are faster than a pedelec during the tourist season. I am over 60 and can still do over 35 km/h on the flat on the right bike. But we don't have...

From Zephyr to Big Bear maybe?

It can be done, without a throttle even. But IMO it is much easier to carry a chain tool and a spare link or two. Oh and don't forget the gloves! And the only chains I have ever seen being repaired were always MTB chains up on the mountain and there you need to be able to fix otherwise you are...

    Kappstein 3 speed motor

Same way they did the 2 gear BB probably. I saw this on the site but because it is a internal controller, big, heavy, shiny motor it didn't rock my boat. Their idea is that you couple it with their BB to get 6 gears. How many Amps are available from the controller is the big unknown.

Has anyone experience of long term reliability of quick connectors?

Yes they should last a long while, the fragile one being the motor plug, I bent mine once and it isn't even a folding bike  So be careful and always use your plug protector. I would really like to find a source for these standard plugs with pigtails so I can roll my own cabling (or be...

BEWO 350W 48V Mid Drive for sale

Yes it is the same. From memory (a year ago?) reading the posts on ES by a Greek engineer who mounted one I think he had to file the inside of his BB a little. Runs at either 36 or 48 V, the controller is the only change. Edit: Tianjin Bewo Technology Co I think it was abbreviated to Tianjin...

    New BB 2 speed drive

It isn't cheap: 500€ But just imagine with a 35 tooth cog = the equivalent of a 53-35 chainring. 14 well spaced gears to go head to head with the Rohloff at half the price... And a nice straight chainline because only one sprocket on the front. As you say very important bit of kit

    New BB 2 speed drive

http://kappstein.de/en/products/doppio/?___store=en Just saw this in bike.eu newsletter. This would complement a hub motor with 7 speed cassette/freewheel very nicely.

BEWO 350W 48V Mid Drive for sale

They have been around for a while (since 2013?) but are not mainstream, Woosh used them at one time IIRC. I also like the external controller and it will run at either 36V or 48V and it has a 48 tooth chainring.

    Riderless Ebikes?

Is skunk weed legal in the UK too now? Ah student days, sitting in dark smoke filled rooms listening to Pink Floyd on the quadrophonic set-up imagining a better world full of passenger less electric vehicles going about their business... So there you are arriving at the station calling your...

Time for a bigger trike - which BBS02?

Carefully remove the cable outer over about 3 cm. If the cables have the same colours (you never know with the Chinese...) label them before cutting.

    Quick question about batteries..

I was being cheeky. They changed the internal gear ratio IIRC. That would privilege torque over speed.
