    Charging electric cars

In practice most owners do better than that though, driving more carefully or using one of the Eco modes easily gets over the figures I quoted. Here's a comment from one Zoe 40kWh model owner who doesn't try to drive with economy in mind: Youll never get less than 3mpkwh, put it that way. I...

e-Moblity - should bike shops be looking at the wider e-transport picture?

Seems we aren't trying hard enough. Norway has made the effort and in 2017 more than half of all new car sales were electric. That's stunning, showing what can be possible. .

    Charging electric cars

That's completely out of date now with the Leaf 2 new model about to start deliveries. The old 24 and recent 30 kWh batteries are out, the new one being 40kWh. Ranges actual and possible are now: Theoretical in ideal circumstances with great care = 235 miles Realistic in Summer = 180 miles...

These boots were made for ...

The best ones are known as Dairy Boots, often sold by motorcycle dealers as part of their clothing range. Dairy farmers and some other food processing workers spend so much time in rubber boots that comfort and sealing are vital. Two links below: Specialist supplier Google Link to a number .

    Electrical Ground

Maybe an answer could be gold plating the frame? Many e-bikes are priced as though they already have been. .

    Electrical Ground

The nearest I've ever seen to this is electrical feeds through the rear mudguard to supply the rear light. I suppose making connections to a thinwall frame in exposed conditions might bring problems, including corrosion and potentially electrolytic action between dissimilar metals. As an aside...

Spare Battery.... expensive luxury, or twice the fun.

I've often ridden with one or even two full size spares in panniers to greatly extend range and never found it a problem, even though in a hilly area. Better to put up with a bit of extra weight than try to pedal a dead e-bike home from far away. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Mercedes and BMW ? Other German brands are just subsidiaries of those big three. Of course all three could have been VW brands, in keeping with their recent evil image. Not from EU countries though, so no protection. Maybe the twenty humans were immigrants from darkest Africa too. .

High time ebike battery sellers were honest about battery AH capacity

I know the feeling. An e-bike I bought back in 2006 nominally had a 10 Ah 36 volt battery. But when A to B magazine did some comparative capacity tests on the same model at various power usage levels, with using it to the full it actually only delivered 7.2 Ah. At the other extreme with a...

High time ebike battery sellers were honest about battery AH capacity

Whilst I sympathise, it will never happen since the usage rate is under the user's control. The situation is the same as that with quoted e-bike ranges. And the same as that with car MPG figures. The nearest to an absolute in all cases is the minimum possible consumption rate, so legislators...

you tube just shat on every small channel

Even if they close all minor accounts I don't see that as problem. They provide a charitable free service and can equally shut that down. If they did shut it down, another organisation will immediately jump in to fill the void. That threat is your safeguard, since a replacement service would...

you tube just shat on every small channel

No doubt it's to cut the administrative costs of very large numbers of small reward accounts. But frankly I don't see any cause for complaint. When YouTube started they were providing a free platform for us to upload our private videos, using advertising to finance it. I saw that as a benefit...
