    have i fried my controller?

Does it smell of burning or reminiscent of the old caps smell when you was a kid ? Capacitors will be unaffected as higher voltage will pop them the main inrush one is 50v rated, most probably a fet issue or a resistor has failed. Chances are the shunt mod might have been to much and drew to...

    Cyclamatic???

Agree above with Kirstin check the battery voltage at least you will know if it's balanced and takes a charge. That alone doesn't mean the battery isn't knackered and voltage won't crash at the first sign of any load. If the hub turns /works then worth a punt if battery checks out, the issue...

    My first DIY e-bike

As for the thread head line most start off with a basic 250/350w kit build and ease in to the unknown and tend to be mostly happy with about 18 - 24 mph as a top speed with pas.

    Nail traps

Certainly are some insane brainless dunderheads out and about. What they don't realise is this brainless act can easily cause a serious injury to a child, adult, dog or even a wild animal.

Bugs don't bother me, keep mouth closed and wear shades. Did have a couple of bumbles bounce off my face and lid today.

A rare piece of history - Swizzbee

The old girl needs a bit of TLC every so often to keep her working, maybe the distances don't help. As you know K Swizzbee is a pleasure to ride it has very good acceleration & speed, unpowered an easy ride. My cycle fitness must be better then I thought as at times I can ride along unpowered...

A rare piece of history - Swizzbee

Time for another rear hub dismantle after today's 68 mile ride out, the differential hub has a set of three pawls which engage /disengage depending on whether power is being used or not. During a spell of unpowered riding I climbed a short steepish ramp then afterwards the pawls or a pawl...

    opinions please

LG HG2 & Sony VTC6A both excellent highly rated top cells which can each handle a 20a load. Though to have a battery with these cells you have to make your own or get Jimmy at BGA/Insat to build it for you. The nearest you can buy ready made in the UK is with the Samsung 30Q another very good...

For off road use crank drive kits, BBS02 48V or GSM with ext controller run at 48v both with 30Q battery from Eclipse.

    opinions please

We don't know the controller amps used but guess it is 25a ish. Ideally for better torque from these heavy hubs you need a higher amp rated controller so 35 or 40a, then you need a top spec battery which uses 20a rated cells like 3000mah HG2 or VTC6A which don't come cheap. Then you need to...

    Yosepower hub kits.

When using non julet controller like the PSWPower KT's , you need to buy the sensors etc as they have the right connectors and wiring in the correct order ( though I always check). The motor wire connector comes as an extra with the hub and is like this one below...

    opinions please

CS and contact after purchase appear to be non existent. 1kw or 1.5kw D/D hub will be a higher wound rpm most likely 390- 470 rpm, you will most likely be disappointed with its performance as a 250/350w smaller lighter geared hub will be better in all aspects barring the 30+ speed. At slow...

    PAS Sensor KT V 12L

If the sensor is gripped nicely on the bb axle and rotates without slipping then try two settings, C1 values 5, 6 or 7 & C14 pas tuning strength values 1 -3 with 2 often the default setting.
