How to quick repair a puncture?

Many just cut the old tube and scrap it, some even carrying a knife for this purpose. Tubes are quite cheap and for many, punctures quite rare. .

Indeed, they tend to charge 2.5%, which on all that HMRC collect in self assessment tax online must add up to an impressive total. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I've never known any government deliver their manifesto and they're never able to raise enough through tax to pay for promises. Instead they usually deliver half what they promised, paid for by borrowing. The clever bit is in getting right what is done and what isn't, in a pattern that...

Getting back in the saddle after 30 years!

You won't regret it Jacqui, and the smile you'll be wearing will let the world know that. It's definitely wise to go electric assist after a 30 year break, trying to get back on form by pedal power only after that time would be brutal. Many I've known who've tried have failed and the ordinary...

I'm happy to watch you be wrong this time. ;) Against Labour's 13 years of government since 1978, the Tories have had exactly double at 26 years. During that time Labour have had one big black mark against them, Iraq and WMD, but most of the bad news for the electorate's lives has been during...

    Tour de France,stitch up?

I knew that Dave, hence my using it as a comparison with the Tour de France, knowing how well you knew and understood F1. I don't just miss the old circuits, I dislike the excessive rules that have made the F1 cars all virtual clones, as you remarked within half a second of each other. So...

Ineffectual enough to win the next election! :D That will be after the deal on leaving the EU, leaving the Tories to blame for that and him in the clear. What is so bad about that? .

    Tour de France,stitch up?

As I said, half dead. It's far from a success story round the world and even F1 itself has expressed concern. Just watch the circuits round much of the world and often only the stands are occupied, having the great and the good occupying them, many no doubt by invitation. The tracksides are...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Another cut in revenue for Philip Hammond, from next January credit card surcharges will be banned since the government have called them a "rip-off". Ironically it's government departments who have been some of the worst offenders, HMRC for example surcharging all annual tax payments made by...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Yes, and we verged on that in the 1970s when the IMF came in to rescue us in the way Danidl mentions. But many countries have effectively gone bankrupt. It happens when they fail to maintain interest payments on their borrowing and default on repayments to such an extent that the interest...

    Tour de France,stitch up?

There's no point in killing themselves at an intermediate point in a three week race, and it's not all about the yellow jersey. If it was the way you'd want it the Tour would have died out decades ago. The appeal is in the complexity. There are various jerseys and points awards for differing...

How to quick repair a puncture?

There's either something sharp like grit embedded in the rim tape or a spoke is protuding beyond a nipple head and piercing the tape. Probably best remove the rim tape, check all the spoke nipple heads if they are against the tape, and if necessary replace the tape if in any doubt. .

    Hello! I'm new to pedelecs..

Yes, Cytronex have specialised in this light setup of the Tongxin Nano motor and small battery from the outset. They used to only supply as complete conversions of lightweight bikes such as those by Cannondale, but didn't sell large numbers. Now they are selling them off at big discounts on...

Yes, I've always admired the way they did that, far more sensible than our two idiot governments over the key years, squandering the income as fast as it came in. .

They are a little smaller. Norway is the largest of them with one sixteenth of our population and has much larger gas, oil and fishing potential than us. Makes it quite easy to succeed. .

Of course he wouldn't, since so many traditionally Labour voters are ardent Brexiters. If JC had taken a strong remain position, many Labour supporters would have voted UKIP instead. That's the oddity of our electorate, people prepared to vote either far left or far right according to the issue. .

    Brexit, for once some facts.

The time to do that was before the referendum by doing everything to stop it, but all the politicians were confident Remain would win and almost all were Remainers anyway. That meant there was nothing to argue about, until they all came unstuck. .

It's what JC wants of course, I repeat, Brexit is a poisoned chalice that will harm whoever carries it out. The last thing JC wants is to have to negotiate it. .

    Hi from Norway

Hi Hans Johnny, welcome to the forum. We have a number of Norwegian members, but I only see three of them entered on our map. Two in the far south at Fredrikstad and one in the far north at Tromsø. .
