    Leaving the EU

Here we'll have to disagree since there's no proof either way at present. However, I see your stance as self defeating, since if we leave the EU the millions of immigrants we have from outside the EU will be stuck here. If we stay in the EU, as soon as things get less good here they'll head...

    Leaving the EU

No, I absolutely didn't say gone completely. Instead I stressed only a slight change is necessary. No again, as I said, the intelligent human moves on of it's own accord out of self interest, long before destruction. It was self-interest that brought them here in the first place. No...

    Leaving the EU

That is definitely not the principle, we are speaking of people with the intelligence to migrate here, not mindless insects. Immigration will cease and immigrants depart as soon as the balance here tips below what is on offer elsewhere. Indeed this mechanism is already active, as we've seen in...

    Leaving the EU

As in every country on earth, the control is built in since it's a self-regulating system. Immigration only continues while it has an advantage. Once the input results in deterioration of the advantages, the migration stops and turns elsewhere. It's one world that is home to all of us. We in...

    New Gtech ebike

Those are indeed solutions, and they've been used on motorcycles. But they incur more weight, very unwelcome on bicycles. .

    G-tech bike,has anyone seen a proper test

Signs are that belt drive on bikes will end up with a similar incidence to that on motorcycles. A few models from certain makers, but the great majority staying with chain. The pressure to do that is much greater on bicycles, due to the popularity of derailleur gears, even more so on e-bikes...

    New Gtech ebike

The necessity for a split fame is the major objection to belt drive. A second one is the need for perfect alignment. I worked for years on equipment using these, and know that the slightest misalignment results in the belt self destructing very rapidly. A third one is that, despite...

    New Gtech ebike

They say their claim relates only to use of the lower power setting, but I still doubt it then. In a hilly area I can see that only getting 15 miles at best, using around 12 Wh per mile. 12 Wh per mile is the most common consumption across a wide range of e-bikes and circumstances, something...

I agree, they are doing the whole e-bike market a big favour but I fear they will ultimately realise that it was inadvertantly a charitable effort. .

    EU Referendum Vote

I'm still a remainer, even without pedelecs Not only UK citizens, any of the 2.1 billion Commonwealth members who will be in the UK on referendum day can vote if they pre-registered. Yes, really. They'd almost all be brexiters too, since they really resent having to get visas to visit the...

    EU Referendum Vote

As a member of the pedelec forum it has to be Remain. The EU rescued us in Nanny State Britain from the strict 200 watts limit, the silly weight limits on e-bikes and trikes and the 12 mph assist speed limit. .

    G-tech bike,has anyone seen a proper test

Having lived in and beside London throughout WW2 hasn't left me with a particular interest in it, or war in general. What's making me notice the excess of the subject is that I listen to Radio 4 as well. The BBC has had the daft idea that to commemorate the centenary of WW1, they are having...

Thanks for the information. I'm sick of the excess of programs about the two world wars so aren't watching or listening to any. .

We must be watching different programs then, most of my viewing is on Freeview and I wasn't even aware they were advertising. I've probably missed one of the ads on the odd occasion since I sometimes time shift and then skip the ad breaks. .

Thanks Tillson, that explains a lot. With Freesat and Freeview and ability to record up to 6 channels at any one time, I don't have need to pay for any additional TV services. Also not taking newspapers means I've seen no Gtech ads at all. .

    G-tech bike,has anyone seen a proper test

I haven't known anything about this, other than in this forum. I've seen some in here mention TV ads, but I haven't seen one. I've also seen some say they have other Gtech products, so maybe they've been direct mailed about the bike? Thats why I'm a bit baffled as to why you say it's had a...
