    Tyre pressures!!!

Peering knowledgeably at the Powabyke tyres this morning, (my husband usually deals with such things for me but he is away for a day or two) I was amazed to discover that the recommended pressure (on the tyre itself) was 65psi. Surely not! I am scared to try to blow them up to...

    I'm on the road again.

I haven't been able to cycle for a wee while now--but yesterday I put the battery on charge--and today me and the Powabyke went for a little trundle. We didn't go very far and I didn't do much pedalling but it was SO nice to be back in at least ONE sort of saddle--but I shan't be back on the...

Have to admit--the Wisper is fun.

Remember the 'runaway Wisper'? No--probably not--but never mind. Well--it has been back to the dealer for some re-training and today we went to collect it and bring it home and before we loaded it-- I asked if if I could give it a quick spin. Goodness--it's SO different from the...

    Probably the silliest question ever

but I can't find the answer anywhere else. But someone asked me today--and I am ashamed to say that I didn't really know the answer. I never ride my PB 'under my own steam', only ever by using the motor, and in all the years I have had it, I have never even moved the gear trigger. (I...

So how many of us are NOT men.

Following on from a flurry of PMs with another forum member. Are most of the forum users here male or female. To make it easy to 'spot the difference', how about if the 'ladies' prefix their answers with the thumbs up icon from the selection below and the gentlemen with the yellow ...

    'Back on the road again'

The PB is, once again, an electric byke. But it was not just the key barrel. In fact, I am not now even sure that it WAS the key barrel at all. I had a lovely selection of melted wires down the bottom end of the battery casing too. So in the end it had to go the 'repair people' for...

    My friends WISPER

'ran away' with her. The motor simply would NOT stop? IN the end she put both feet down, let go the handlebars and let it whirl away by itself, into a hedge--and even then the motor kept running. It was quite scary. Any ideas what went wrong?

    Do you keep your e-bike

under cover? Mine lives in the garage and one on the site lives under a green plastic cover. But there is one that is just parked in it's garden, exposed to the elements. I am not sure where the other one lives.

    What should I ask? (price)

I have been thinking (aloud) about getting a new, more modern e-bike and today, when I mentioned this ambition to a friend of mine, she asked me how much I would want for the old one. (Once I have fixed the ignition barrel problem.) It is a 2004 Powabyke Shopper complete with all it's...

    Another battery question.

The Powabyke has three power indicator lights on the throttle handle. When the (new) batteries are fully charged, all three light up for about three-five miles, then I get two lights, for about a further ten or so miles. When light number two begins to 'flicker', I put the batteries on...

Where do we all go on our pedelecs

I was hoping to do this as a POLL--but I can't see how. So--as in the title really. I never go very far. (And I don't cycle in the rain.) I go to the stables where I keep my horses. (about a mile each way) I go shopping. (Well it IS a Shopper :) ). (Theres a shopping type...

    Slightly technical query

I am trying to change the ignition barrel on my 2004 Powabyke. It LOOKS as if it should be an easy enough fix. But it isn't. One seems to need three very small hands and very long thin fingers. Has anyone else tried this--and if so--any tips? Or should I just give it up and...
