I remember our neighbour had a cyclemaster wheel on his bicycle. That was tiny 2 stroke engine built into the back wheel. They seemed to be quite popular for a while.

I remember our neighbour had a cyclemaster wheel on his bicycle. That was tiny 2 stroke engine built into the back wheel. They seemed to be quite popular for a while.
They were one of the more civilised ones, but did lack power compared to some others. The black painted hub shell one came first, 25cc, but was the upgraded to 32 cc with a grey painted hub shell.

They were a Dutch company but the design was originally by Germany's DKW, gained as war reparations.

1951 25cc BSA model £1.5k, both examples pointing out fleec's motor cc difference.

The important thing for me in your's and Guerney's examples are the mudguards and their strong stays on the bikes back then.

Thoroughly sensible, extending far enough around the wheels to protect the bottom bracket area and the back of the bike and rider.

Not like today's idiotic apologies for mudguards which give hardly any protection to either.
