Nice motor though, if they could fit, without effecting the width of the motor, a freewheel clutch like the Cute motors instead of the rotor and replace the ring gear and mount the rotor magnets in its place then you would have a freewheeling direct drive motor - the best of both worlds - patent pendingAs you state was reported 2011 though I am not sure if its ever come to market/is available.

That review was more or less a complete waste of time. It didn't comment on any of the unique characteristics of the motor.Team Hybrid sell some Falco kits, and complete bikes with the Falco motor. No mention of the Brompton though. Electric Bike Magazine recently reviewed their mtb with the Falco.
