Has this been posted before? Rohloff Disc Speedhub - £600

It is the electronic shift version, without the shifter bit. See last sentence in details box. Disc mount is Rohloff special, and also needs a sprocket.

Still very tempting!

Bargain weirdly useful and at times indispensable tiny adjustable wrench. There's always a tiny nut to hold down, when nothing else will do. Can't count how many PCs I've fixed with this, and panicked the other day because I had momentarily lost track of mine, when I needed to bolt the new horn to my:

...rather than solder this time, because it's less messy when removing the horn. So I ordered another tiny wrench in case it happens again, as it will because it's do damned tiny - I paid £1.75, but subsequently and all of the sudden the price has shot up to a staggering and outrageous £2.78!

The first thing I always look at is the rear dropout. and just looking closely, I wonder would it take a rear hub motor ?

Dont know, but i was thinking more along the lines of a mid drive unit.

It's mainly that it has good offroad geometry, 4130 chromoly, and can fit modern components. So you can build a capable offroad Emachine

If you want to fit a mid motor to an MTB, the first thing you should look at is the BB and chai wheel clearance. They say max chainwheel size is 34T, and it looks pretty close to the frame behind it, so I would say that the chance of one fitting is low.

Picture below of BB/rear chainstays . Those big circles are unusual and I think would get in the way/ruin the chainline, so you would need to carefully measure.

They're probably genuine. I've noticed that the prices of Chinese stuff is collapsing. They've lost about 30% of their market due to Trump tarrifs, so they need to sell more to us. All those cheap bikes on Amazon that were about £650 are now down below £500.
I just paid my Chinese supplier. Their prices have not changed. Trump tanked the dollar about 3% in the last week so it's a discount of sort. (£ = $1.27 on 7th April, now $1.32)

Instead of watching the BBC, try reading Trump's book "The art of the deal", then go and ask your supplier about the new lower prices you'll be paying.

Aaaarrrrgggghh! Only CAN bus 250W Bafang BBS01B available on PSWPower! Amurkier fsck yeah isn't interested in 250W, I doubt prices of BBS01B will reduce for us much. Perhaps soon may be a good time to negotiate a lower price for Bafang rating BBS02 and BBSHD etc. "250W", with a suitably large enough order.

New front hub motor for £91.99 delivered, sold by the amazing BankruptBikeParts. UK based, discount code is shown below. Ten motors are available. Is this a bargain for a cheap build? Is this really a Bafang? What's a SWXB? For 36H 28" wheels, would it work ok with 26"? Does "Panterra" mean it's heavy metal? Must I get tattooed?

Are you just using the motor and getting a wheel built ? If so that should be fine 20mph @28" will be slightly slower at 26" but will still be fine. It's not particularyl cheap just for the motor , probably £100 to get the wheel built

It's not particularly cheap for just a motor

or

If you are hoping to use the 28" wheel it might not fit - also rim brakes would probably be in the wrong place

Thanks, should be fine on 26" wheel then. Was considering building a motor into the wheel myself.

The TBK motor csosts $84.00+$30.77 delivery= £86.02, which isn't massively cheaper, and there's a longer wait for delivery from China. The 350W motor from PSWPower is tempting because of the low price, but neither motors from TBK or PSWPower are manufacturer marked 250W, the SWXB "Bafang" Panterra is. Still, not a bargain.

You'd be better off buying one from Aliexpress to get the characteristics you need.

That one has three issues:
1. It has the wrong the connector, so you'd have to do some soldering.
2. It has no disc fixings, so rim-brake only, which is not good for an ebike.
3. It's for a 28" wheel, which limits the bikes you can put it in. It would work in a 26" wheel, though proportionally slower than a typical motor (probably 180 rpm). It would have been quite good like that for heavier people apart from the rim brakes being insufficient.

I'm ok soldering.

My 26" Dahon Esperesso folder has rim brakes.

15.2% slower. Oodles of hills around here.

I'll take a gander, if interest in a hub motor conversion persists.
