Best Folding E Bike

I am actually toying with the idea of a folder too, but seeing as I already HAVE a good crank drive Tonaro bike ......a good hub motor one would be fine for the use I would put it to......I would imagine mainly along canal tow paths or cycle paths that bit further away from home that I could do in the day, etc
I would like hub gears though......so if you actually come across anything that HASNT got a Bosch motor between the legs ....let me know

You might find something you like on the website of CH White and Son of Malmesbury in Wiltshire. They have specialised in folders for years and do several electric versions. They might build one to your own requirements. They are a very old-established firm with a great reputation.

Thanks Jerry, I know you love your bike and I know they seem to be the best folders..... but I couldnt do with the small wheels.....would have to be 20" for me.

Now I just have to find the money

Jerry I have put on weight of my bike since last summer......Back up to 18 stone
Cant see a Tonkin getting me up many if any hills Also carrying it in camper wheels dont need to be as small as Brompton, 20inch fine.

Lynda in a folder not worried what the power source is....as long as reasonably light and well geared

The 806Alpino has all the benefits of the Alpino range, such as the powerful Dapu system as on your DaaHub conversion. We have had to equip the 806Alpino with an optional ultra soft start program to stop the wheel spinning in the wet! It has the superb Alfine 8 hub gears, clean, refined and IMO the best hub gear box available, eyeletted AlexRims, and hollow tech cranks and bearings. The obvious differences are the folding frame, 20" wheels and 36V 9Ah battery.

Have you tried hub gears lately Eddie? They really have come on a lot especially the Shimano Alfine 8, I actually prefer the Alfine to the Deore derailleur system.

White is it at the moment I am afraid!

well this is getting serious now...Wife has taken redundancy so of travelling again either end of June or beginning of July. Heading for Slovenia/Croatia as we did last year but further down for some Island hopping..Then across on ferry to Italy and back up through Umbria/Tuscany then meet up with our children and friends in Lake Garda as we do most summers....

Most folders seem a bit basic, I like the Wisper Alpino, seems to be best of the bunch... but looking for something cheaper as it is only a stop gap bike until I can ID a light enough crank drive bike or ideally a crank drive folder.

Ebay throws up a motley collection of e folders.. but one that caught my eye was the 8 fun? What do more experienced members think of this one please. motor has latest 8 fun SWXK motor with no hall sensors, is that good? also panasonic cell battery
