Not guilty, I didn't start the Mark 2 thread Morgann, I think it was Tillson.
I was in the course of replying to your post directed to me when the thread was locked, but fortunately copied it in time, so here's the reply:
Perhaps you or somebody could? just briefly? for the benefit of we latecomers to what appears to our (well, my at least) uninformed eyes to be the 'Ebike sellers Cheerleader Tryouts'.
I haven't dug too deeply into it because... don't care; just a casual enquiry, don't bother if you CBA.
It's just that I'm wondering when one of them is going to bring their Mum along to complain about the meanness of it all.
Perhaps they could grow a pair, or at least, a thicker skin?
The issue is simply one of a supplier posting web pages that are designed to attract search engine inquiries for rival machines to their website, in order to then recommend their own products.
This isn't merely "mean" as you put it, it's dishonest and even when unsuccessful, wastes the time of inquirers. If all companies behaved in this way, search engines would lose much of their usefulness.
In a similar high street context, I don't think it would be reasonable for Tesco to open a second store in one of their areas but fitted with a Sainsburys fascia to entice their customers in. And I don't think Sainburys management's complaints about such an event would indicate lack of "a pair" or having a thin skin.
