Are all wired up the same way no matter what seller you buy it from so long as its a kt controller. The same as the sw900 display so long it is compatible controller

As long as it isn't a customer custom job then all should work.
For instance cyclotricity use a custom version for there dual 250/1000w illegal kits, a std KT display doesn't work for the 1000w mode.

The SW900 has the same connector wiring as a KT display. I presume an S900 does too. I had an S866 that works with Brainpower controllers, and it has the same wiring as a KT. I've mixed the displays and controllers together when I had them.

All will connect to battery power/ground on the red/black. and allow the display to be turned on. That raises the blue wire to battery, which powers up the controller. Then the green/yellow data wires start trying to talk, but cannot, and we may get a COMM error.

The fun part is that KT displays can work without a display, so if a foreign display is connected, you still get throttle and a default PAS. That really confuses people who have attached an SW900. Meanwhile, some other non-KT controllers can do the same, and that confuses someone who has plugged in an LCD3.

I’m looking to buy a new display (as i cannot change the wheel size in settings) for my pre-built electric bike (basis beacon 2021), i cannt seem to figure out what type of LCD or Controller it has at the moment. The connector from the screen looks like the standard KT LCDs ones i am just unsure what screen to buy to ensure it will work with my bike

You have to be careful and really need to find out what controller is fitted to your bike.

And even then a compatable display may not work properly if the firmware inside the controller has been customised.

You can’t really go on the connector wiring either as different displays have the same connector wiring but are’t matched to the controller.

If the display isn’t matched it may power on but it won’t communicate properly with the controller.

You need to show us which LCD you have. I thought they used S866. I've never seen them use a KT one, and if it's not a KT one, the connector would be wired differently.

If it is an S866 and you're locked out of the settings, an Aliexpress replacement one has a good chance of fixing it, though compatibility isn't guaranteed. They don't cost much more with a controller, so you might as well get both, then it's sure to work if you can find one with the same controller connectors, otherwise you have to do a bit of wiring to connect it up.

One won't be able to use a KT lcd/display it will be incompatible.

To use a KT lcd one needs to upgrade the controller to a KT as well.
