You know you owe it to me. After all, I bought you a pint in Winslow on Monday and all I got back was a 1/2 pint and a measly packet of crisps.
Hey, thats not fair to pull in 'personal knowledge/favours etc'......could be construed as an unfair advantage ( or disadvantage if he keeps the half v pint ratio going ) :)

OK 10mph is streets ahead in the competition. Can anyone else come up with a reason why they should have the motor?

In all fairness I have to agree that 10mph seems to be the most serious contender here.......I therefore renounce all possible votes that I might have gained through my tempting offer of painting John red and hand those possible votes over to 10mph. :) :) :)

Yeah right Tony:rolleyes: You will have to come up with a better excuse than that;)
Not kidding John, back today. I was visiting my brother at Moigne Combe and staying in the Yalbury Cottage hotel at Lower Bockhampton. Neither noted for post 19th century access systems, complete zero on mobile phone signal at the latter.

Nice to note that the hotel arranges local bicycle hire for any guest willing to leave their car parked while there.

Sorry for doubting you Tony.
I hope you enjoyed your stay in what looks like a lovely part of the country.
I had to look it up to on the map because I had not heard of Moigne Combe before.
Sounds a great place to get away from it all.
I expect those typing fingers appreciated a bit of a rest;)

As you can see this thread has degerated during you absence:eek:

Yes, lovely spot, I enjoyed a long walk along a riverbank bridle path early morning yesterday to build an appetite for breakfast. I normally stay with my brother at Skippet Cottages, Moigne Combe but age means he's preparing to move into sheltered accommodation at Corfe Castle close to his daughter. I used the hotel and we ate out to avoid giving him extra work since he is getting a bit frail now.

The thread is fine, just the sort of banter typical of the internet's most friendly forum, emphasised by Eddie's teasing contribution above. I wouldn't wish it any other way.
