picture of the Volkswagen e-bike:

The nearest to this is the GoCycle as seen ad Redbridge

To be honest I don't think any of these folders folds as we would want. What is needed is that the size of the bike should be the diameter of the wheels plus the mudguards, say 24" overal diameter on a 20" wheeled bike and the crank, handlebars and seat post all folds into that diameter-the nearest I can find is the concept VW ELECTRIC BIKE (perhaps someone could google an image and load it on this forum). The VW has no pedals so cannot be classed as a Pedelec but the design of the fold in the way the handlebars and seat post are radiused into the fold is quite clever.
All the electric folders are really electrified vanilla folders, this means the fold ends up fat in width and many elements outside of the folded envelope....what is needed is one of the big manufacturers (Honda?)with big R&D facilities to design the bike as an e-bike from conception, this is beyond the small suppliers such as Kudos with our limited volumes.

The snag with the GoCycle is that it doesn't fold, it has to be dismantled into components and needs a carry case, adding to the weight and bulk. The clever VW design is a true instant folder.

Not a folding bike, & from back in 2011, but this bike claims to be wireless, inc the brakes!
Electric bikes - Shadow Ebike Shadow Ebike - Electric bikes / EBA / Scooters - Electric, bikes,Shadow,Ebike,Shadow,Ebike,Electric, bikes,EBA,Scooters
Looks like they took the Copenhagen wheel idea a step further. If this was put together with an IF Mode style fold, it could get seriously small for full size electric folder. Oops, spoke too soon, description says "had to design a custom fork to hold it because there were no conventional bicycle forks in the market place wide enough to hold it", sounds bulky :)

Tell you what'd blow our minds Trex, if they figured out how to 3D print with Graphene, though coz it's best when 1 atom thick, its a long way off! Even 3D printing in carbon fibre (chopped fibre) would be a leap forward. A real competitor to cnc'd alloy parts? But think how difficult to keep printer nozzle unblocked when using resin :D

As always I have to post the Brompton option :p

Small Keyde 1.4kg motor fitted to a M2L-X weights 11.5kg with the electronics & battery in the front bag connected with an umbilical

Even a stock Brompton with this motor would weigh less than 13kg or 13.5kg with a Tongxin.

The ultimate lightweight city folder. I doubt you could beat it.

The closest/cheaper option I have build is this

This is a Dahon Uno upgraded with a SRAM A2 for auto two speed changing. Again fitted with a black Keyde motor weighs around 13kg.

I have a modified Brompton luggage block on the front frame lug (no weight/effect to steering) and I can us the same bag with controller and battery as I use for my Bromptons.

Jerry, really like that bike...the conversion looks very professional and neat....what sort of budget did it cost, the Dahon Mu Uno is not a cheap bike. Does that 13kg include the battery?
thanks for the posting
