From experience, titanium is much nicer to ride than both steel or alloy, and probably safer but the price difference puts titanium beyond the pocket of most people. As an example, Marin offer the Team Titanium mountain bike frame at a cost of £1450 for the frame only!. Our bikes would be so much nicer to ride with steel frames, and potentially safer too.

Very true.I believe that Aluminium bikes can end up heavier than steel because people start wanting suspension forks to compensate for the harsh ride!
