Is an Electric Mezzo possible

I have bought a Mezzo Mezzo Folding Bikes and have been considering adding some power to help out with the hills around Bristol.

So far I am coming to the conclusion that with its super folding bits getting in the way I am going to find this near impossible (I am looking to put together a front hub set up with a throttle).

I have read there exists an 80mm Tongxin motor which I think might squeeze into the space but I was not able to find dimensions of it on the Tongxin website. The two dimensioned drawings I found both look about 101mm wide for the front fork options.

Any pointers out there? Any helpful ideas would be nice too:D

Dan I am not sure if that is too large i.e. not 80mm like the Tongxin ?

Thanks!

Is this is 80mm motor? http://www.tongxin.net.cn/en/down/dianji2.jpg

From the various photos of installs I have seen it seems that it is not possible to use quick release skewers with the motor (these are required for the folding mechanism on the Mezzo). Is this correct?
I would not use quick-release nuts with hub motors.

Yes, quick release skewers are impossible with any existing hub motor, some having cable entries within the spindle and at least one having a two section spindle. The motor torque is such that the spindles have to be very firmly clamped into the frame with full nuts, and in many cases anti-torque arms are fitted as well.

Thanks flecc, in that case it seems that the answer for the Mezzo is not if you want to keep the ability to fold.
