And the dog in the shed working a treadmill generator overnight...We are now getting a long way from the 'Lorry wiper motor and 12 volt lead acid battery' stage.
Interesting days ahead!
An that point flecc - STEPS was announced to much fanfare back in June 2010..........and then I've never heard so much as a whisper about itIt certainly sounds like an add-on which would give it wide appeal, but on the other hand it might only be for manufacturers like the Shimano Steps e-system.
It won't be any bike, probably bikes with a straight through BB of a certain size.Am I reading this correctly?
The AEG centre (crank?) drive does not need to have a unique modified frame such as the present Bosch and Panasonic units require? If so, presumably the AEG system can be fitted to any bike.
No insight at all, but it's lack of adoption is as I forecast at the time. Why? Obviously low powered, very design restrictive since it only comes as a whole system, and as a consequence far more expensive than using Suzhou Bafang and other sources. I think Shimano were relying on their brand name, but that counts for nothing in e-biking electricals. An that point flecc - STEPS was announced to much fanfare back in June 2010..........and then I've never heard so much as a whisper about it
knowledage chap that you are - do you have any insights ? It sounded so promising (especially a battery with 8,000 charge cycles lifespan!)
