Actually not sure that would be the right frame ?

Yep I guess she would need this one

PS I could get her one of these for the same price :p

Perhaps I'm missing something obvious, (I do that sometimes) but where does one find the 15% off code?

Indalo

It was on my post MARCH2012

When you order, there's a box to type in discount codes. You just type in "MARCH2012" and the price mysteriously reduces.

Ah! Thanks for that. I seem to recall being told about that once before now that you mention it. My Alzheimer's is getting worse and I seem to suffer increasingly with my mental faculties and loss of memory but I can't remember what that's called.

There are some video clips on Youtube of Cyclamatic bikes and I'm bound to say after watching them, the bikes seem remarkable value for money. Ok, they may not be "state of the art" but they do stand up well to closer inspection.

Let me be clear; I don't want to buy one of these machines but I was intrigued to see exactly what one gets at such a low price point, (after discounts). It's difficult to eulogise about such a cheap ebike when we're used to reading about far more expensive bikes in this forum but I really believe this bike would be all that a lot of people require in a bike with a little bit of motor assistance.

So long as we disregard any possibility of 30+ mile daily commuting, round-Britain touring or climbing Everest-like hills without pedalling, this kind of bike is perfect as an aid to fitness, an alternative to walking and an easy and cheap way to use the car less often and isn't that what electrically-assisted bikes should be about? With pannier bags, quite a bit of shopping can be carried so yes, for me, the Cyclamatic represents fantastic value for money.

It would be really easy to knock this bike as it utilises fairly basic and cheap components but so too do many ebikes at twice the price. The Sports HQ has been peddling these machines for quite a while now and they seem to sell well. As the firm is clearly no "fly-by-night" outfit and reviews, both on their own site and on Amazon, praise the bike and the company's service highly, it really is a steal at the discounted price possible. Even a replacement battery is reasonably priced so at the money, what's not to like?

Jerrysimon said "I`m tempted to get one of those for my wife . " Sounds like a fair swap to me ! sorry , I could not resist . It is bikes like this which will put ebikes in the hands of more and more people , and spread the word . Some will find what they have been missing , and perhaps , later move on to the top end bikes . It has got to be a win-win situation . I have been prescribed tablets for Alzheimers , but I keep forgetting to take them . Not sure I can remember how to spell it either ...

They are clearly "loss leaders", especially when on these offer prices. A retailer like SportsHQ selling a wide range of goods can hit on a currently popular item like e-bikes and make this sort of offer for publicity and to attract other custom.

Although it's good for e-biking promotion, it's tough on the e-bike suppliers who have to survive only on e-bike sales, since they can't begin to compete and survive as well.

Well, I only mention the discount codes because my wife has a Cyclamatic +, it is her second bike now since she moved up to a 36V Synergie but she still enjoys riding it and it is the bike she loads on the van when we go a bit further afield because it`s fairly light and easy to move around. I have made up a SLA battery pack(15Amp) and it goes very well on it fitted into a small bag on her rack.
I seem to remember paying around £330 when the discounts were high at the start. No! it`s not a main road burner but she seems to keep up with me OK on it.
