Capital Socialism, Government handouts, but not to the poor or low income, but to Large for profit companies
Tantamount to pushing the cost of imports onto the state, because it's only fair that companies are on benefits:

"Think of Government Procurement Cards as Whitehall's version of a contactless debit card. Thousands of these black cards are used by government departments with little control, scrutiny, or oversight. Treating taxpayers money like this is wrong. "

When you see how much investment is needed to build 3D or vertical chips, we just don't have the money to compete.
Yes the UK has fallen in the Chip race, but I believe the US may have pulled that trigger too late. China's biggest problem is expertise & no amount of cash would level them up to TSMC. I think most of the US skill base would come from Taiwan. But with this level of funding I fear it would push up the end price so much it will be hard to justify the project, after all these product where made overseas to keep price low and maximise profits. I know of staunch capitalists who find this whole tax payer funded operations to private companies as nothing but a wealth extraction vessel. Foxconn never fully delivered on it promises, although I never looked into this.

the opposite. Government funding/participation is key in expanding supply side, therefore reduces pressure on market price. EU CAP: cheaper food, higher standard.
Semiconductors demand is expanding for the foreseeable future. Governments have to step in.

Maybe I am getting cynical in my old age, I will let history judge.

Ah, history. Mullard valves, we never had all this aggro making those.
.
I bought a few of their EL-34 pentodes for my amplifiers back in those days.

Machine Learning relies on stats (justification for the ever increasing masses of information we're constantly being pumped for, (partly) in a vain attempt to make this form of "AI" work), and marriage stats aren't good... I suspect it was a sexbot which looks like one of these, looking to divide and conquer Sun Tzu stylee, but prettier:

Yeah, these planted stories are programming, like the so-called "Avian Flu" resulting in culls, to create shortages, so they add.."lack of agricultural labour means food shortages".Screenshot_20230222-223038_Chrome.jpg
But don't worry "AI robots" will plant and pick the produce, won't they :D

it's like pussy now, 7.5% or 8% not like the old days of 9% when it truly warmed your heart & brain. I got an out-of-date (7/22) skol super yesterday for a £1 - 8% what a load of rubbish. Although at £2 a can min pricing n all that up in Scotland. There is some Polish supers out there that are 9% I think I saw one once at 13% lmao. Our merry locals are dinking that now.
