"My wife's a flat earther, she got so mad when I said not so, she's gone looking for the edge.
I'm sure I'll see her again..
When she comes back around.
In the meantime I'm just enjoying the peace and quiet!" :D

Imagine 6 months of sun, 24hrs a day, but its still frozen! Then 6 months of dark. Maybe they skip to s.america in the the dark times? Just make it up, hehe ;-)

These flat earthers do seem to have a lot of support.

Apparently they have members all around the globe.

They do it as a sort of intellectual exercise or battle of wits. I reckon that most don't even believe it. What gets them every time is that they have no argument against and no explanation for the gyroscope tilting as you fly around the planet. The lighthouses that sink as you sail away from them are also quite difficult for them to explain.

That's just spacetime curvature. It's not that they don't know, they just don't think about it.
Flat earthers go about their lives without bothering much about the underlying sciences and fact checking.

"Picked 77 out of 3,146 responses to get the '97% of sceance-tists' figure"..

Ah, that's what Mark Twain meant when he wrote: "there's lies, damn lies, and then there are statistics"!

There's cherry picking, and then there's outright ....!

How did you get on with your AI pc?
I've only just noticed this question, because it wasn't a reply to one of my posts, thus I wasn't alerted. Been too busy, parts are still boxed piled up, but I'm about to order more NVMe drives. Some Western Digital Blacks run cooler than most, might not burn to death fast. Sansung lost out to Micron for new nVidia integrations, because theirs run too damn hot. Can't find MLC new, they're all bloody TLC with crap endurance. I bet if I find new MLC, it'll be too expensive. Corsair 705 was also an option - "Fastest in the world" apparently (or were), but hot, with low endurance compared to MLC. Roll on multiple dimension quantum AI processing, could be more energy efficient if at room temperature. But will other dimensions need cooling?
