20A 48v sinewave, so you get 17% more torque than what shows on that test report, i.e. 96 Nm.

do you know the weight and diameter of the Q128H? I've looked on bmsbattery.com website and could not find the info.

I found the info on ES. 3kgs, 128mm, 1:16 two stage reduction. Very impressive indeed. Only query area about the solidity of the clutch unit.

It's a similar clutch to the Q100 except bigger. It's much larger and stronger than a BPM one.

the 1:16 reduction ratio is just as strong for hills as the Xofo CD which has 1:22 reduction ratio and half the price of the Xofo CD.
How easy is it to open? as easy as the BPM?

6 screws in the sideplate, so the same. You shouldn't need to open it though.

I always want to fix things myself. Did you use the 36V 201 RPM and overvolt it to 48V to get the speed?

the performance of the Q128H could exceed the Panasonic hub motor with your setup.

It feels much more powerful. You get a throttle too, so it's eady to test how much power thevmotor gives. To get the maximum from the Panasonic, you have to pedal hard, which givesca false impression, though it's still good.

impressive. I reckon on 650B wheels, it'll blow the socks off the KTM e-race P. Less than £500 conversion kit.

Would you recon an S06S up'd to17a at 44v 12s lipo be a good controller combo for the 36v version?

how about acceleration from standstill compared with the BPM? I would have thought the Q128H would accelerate more slowly.

Acceleration depends on torque and mass regardless of what motor it is. Assuming that they have similar torque, the Q128 has less mass, so would accelerate quicker.

the BPM has 1:5 reduction ratio against 1:16 on the Q128H. To reach 100 rpm for example, the BPM rotor has to reach 500 RPM while the Q128H's rotor to reach 2,200 RPM. Although the core of the Q128 is smaller, it you still have to add the mass of the clutch to the core. Being of two stages, I reckon both clutch units weigh about the same. Hence my question. One good thing though, the Q128H has helical gears so should be much quieter.

The clutch turns at hub speed.

The inertia of the motor has no affect on the bike's acceleration. It can easily keep up with the throttle, which is damped by the controller software. The inertia of the bike and rider is much more significant as a factor in acceleration than the motor's inertia. Lift your wheel off the ground to see how quickly it can accelerate to 15mph compared with when you're riding the bike. It's the torque through the wheel and the total mass that are the only real factors in acceleration, plus maybe a bit of throttle damping, which becomes more significant in high powered systems.

Thanks for the info D8veh.I have also been curious about this motor for a long time. How is the hill climbing compared to Xiongda 48v in low speed gear. And will it overheat on long steep hills with a 100kg rider?
