Hahaha! Well, bloody hell - what ever would you expect? All e-bikes are a compromise - the more power you use, the more battery capacity per mile is needed.

Of course, you don't HAVE to use all that power, and then you'd have the range. Maybe knowing it's there might be enough - though I'm afraid if it were me I would just have to open the throttle....

Me too, throttles are either on or off, and battery welfare doesn't come into it.
