I think I've got lateral trueing right - no trueing stand, I use cut off zipties attached to the frame forks as a reference. For radial trueing (and to do a better job), I'd need to actually get a trueing stand... in the meantime, I found that plucking the spokes like guitar strings helps me to avoid overtensioned spokes... too much tension sounds too high pitched when plucked compared to other spokes. I'm hoping that will avoid too much radial deformation. But I really should just get a trueing stand - I'd ask the bike shop guy to do it but it takes him three days!

Depending on what metal that is made of, it looks like it's been work hardened and could shatter in use sometime. But I'm no expert on metals or bikes - nothing lasts very long when going fast it seems...

That's not a realistic test! They need to do that during a rare Polish earthquake to simulate downhill, with the lathe bouncing up and down and side to side, as well as spinning.

Nice. I've got old fashioned V-brakes. I get through a lot of brakes and rims... but they do stop me well enough to skid and/or throw me off forwards, now that they're bloody straight. Dics are cheaper than rims, usually. My next bike'll have discs.
