Just weighed the bike, it's a gnat's over 12kg. Add 2kg for a tongxin motor, 3kg for a battery & controller and 2kg for mudguards & rack and you end up with a sub-20kg electric bike.

Thanks Chris.......very kind! I just dont get why they dont put the weight in adverts. I really want a bike with front suspension and would think the wisper kit would be a bit heavier as well.

Take one Brompton M3L which includes mud guards (11.5kg) add one Tongxin (2.1kg) hub motor, an A123 36v 2.3Ah homemade battery (good for 10 miles in Cambridge) all in a Brompton C Bag with controller (2.5kg) plus misc bits e.g lights, thumb throttle, heavier Marathon Plus tyres total weight = 16.9kg

Also no lock required, that will add a kg or two, as I carry it in where ever I go.

Not for everyone I guess, but it fits my requirement
