So if I got the 22a I would be looking at setting C5=03 for 11a or C5=04 for 14.66a that's a massive 700+ watts:eek:

@11a that would bring the 250w inline with my 350w speed wise(ish)

So why does the manual say 01 & 02 are "undefined"
Don't forget that is controller watts output not watts at the hub, the watts output from the hub minus efficacy will be max 563w. With C5 you can adjust output required to suit you needs. Though probably the 22a/845w max from the front hub might be too much.

KT/Hailong controller and not the standard controller in Julet as well.
I did suggest it via email a while back, stating that only speaking from the UK stand point, Julet does seem to becoming popular, the CS rep said he'd pass the idea to top brass but hey only time will tell if they take it on board.

Hi All,

Has anyone rebuilt a Yosepower rear hub motor into a different size wheel rim? I have a 700c kit I purchased earlier on this year and wish to rebuild the motor into a 27.5 650B rim to suit a Carrera Subway 2. Just wondered if there were any manufacturers specs/dimensions for the hub anywhere so I can calc the spoke length.

Cheers
Alan

You can re lace the hub in to any suitable sized rim. Use a spoke calc to order the right length spokes, first of all you will need the rim ERD then input all the dims asked for.

Suggest you opt for 2x pattern for better nipple entry angle.

Hi Nealh,

I have already purchased the wheelpro book and downloaded it some time ago. Just wondered if anyone knew who manufactured the hub motor and if there were and specs/dimensions available. I will just measure it myself and work it out, thanks for your reply.

Cheers

It doesn't work in that way to get spoke lengths, you have to know the rims ERD as they are all different depending on the manufacturer and material thickness used as well things like single or double wall and wall height. A spoke 3 or 4mm the wrong size and you end up with nightmare when t comes to lacing 1 or 2mm you might get away with.

I've already have the new rim and have worked out the ERD and other rim dimensions I need but just wondered if any size/dims were available for hub motor but no problem I will measure them myself.

Thanks

Just got an email from topbikekit regarding Nealh and my discussion on KT julet after market controllers and the lack of.... Well it seems like someone in china might just have listened, I will wait to view it actually placed on site before I get too excited... I quote from email...

"Last time you ask us if have normal controller with Julei connector, i told my boss and he finally decided to sell the controller.
The one we make it with Julei connector is our T06S 24V/36V 250W controller and T12S 36V/48V 500W controller, all is KT controller.
We has order it from KT and it will need to wait about 15days." (www.topbikekit.com)

Fingers crossed.

Good news then for those wanting to go 48v with their hubs, the T12S bar the connectors will have ( I should think) the same dim's as the S12S from BMSBattery so quite large.

No but i might - I like the colour shame it'll housed in a ugo black box... do they do a 48v

Easier to over-volt, now I can buy a battery and the 48v controller, attempt an over-volt then save up some coin for the rear kit end of summer - happy days!

cafeful of that overvolting lark
Yer it'll only be a temp thing until my funds are back up to a healthy amount + had a chat with Nealh about reducing the amp draw via the LCD3, I would only be wanting an extra 50-80 watts I miss that little extra kick of my 350. Just waiting to get the worse ever month in the year over with and I'll get some hall sensors and try another fix on it but I have a funny feeling that it might have lost continuity in the wires leading into the motor - my "swear word" volt meter died on me after 5 years of good service so I am waiting on a cheap one from china, did not notice "from Hong Kong" on the ebay listing!

Those are KT controllers so 24/36 and 36/48 v depending on model and in square and sine wave versions. I have seen them for sale on aliexpress IIRC. I wish they were commonly available!

Same as the LCD8S, they have it at greenbike but greenbike don't have the controller I want... Each time it is shipping fees on top of shipping fees. I wish I has the cash to set up a web shop specialised in stuff that is hard to find or hard to find in the same place.

Yep me too thats why I asked topbikekit they seem to do everything else julet LCD, throttles and PAS but never really see any controllers unless you buy the YOSE kits, so hopefully thats started a new era of controllers for after market users.

Speaking of the LCD8s I haven't looked at it yet but I have seen some nice looking full colour LCD's could I just swap out my LCD3 and use any of these?

EDIT - it was the LCD8 I saw - nice
