Hi d8veh, I opened the triangle box up and there is a spare wire going in from the battery box area. There are 3 wires red, yellow and black. I have measured the voltages and get R/B 4.7 volts and R/Y 4.65 volts B/Y zero volts and yes I can solder.Thanks to both you and David from AMPS for taking an interest.

Hi d8veh, thanks for replying so quickly. We bought the bike new in May 2010 and was manufactured in March of that year. There is a small panel on bars with 3 assist levels, an on/off button, a light button and 4 indicator lights for the battery. The brake wires do infact go into a small triangular box below the handle bars.

My wife has a Wisper 805fe. It is 37 volts with a 250 w motor. There are 3 wires to the motor. The motor power is brought in by a sensor on the crank but not untill she has pedaled a couple of revolutions and then sometimes so sharply that the wheel spins if on gravel. Her problem is starting off particularly if facing up hill where she finds it difficult to make the first few revolutions. She is in her 70's and parhaps lacks the confidence of somebody a bit younger. I wondered if it would be possible to fit a button or thumb throttle to start the bike from rest to say 4 mph so that she could get her balance before pedaling.Hope that some of you with a more technical bent may be able to help.

Yesterday I bought a Shimano bottom bracket sealed unit at my local cycle shop Drovers Cycles in Hay on Wye and paid the full price for it £22.99 When I realized I needed a special spanner to do up the nuts I returned to the shop with the bike and asked if they would tighten the nuts, they did and charged me £7.50 for their 5 minute effort. I won't be going back!

I have a Fiamma cover for our two electric bikes for use behind our motorhome . traveled many thousands of miles in France at 50 to 70 mph and never had a problem. It is secured by two rubber bungys which come fixed to the bottom of the cover and clip on the carrier.

Would this work for any bike, a Wisper 805 fe for instance and could a thumb throttle be substituted for the push button. Failing that would it be possible to change the power assist to give 5 assist positions ( like a king meter ) instead of the 3 on the present set up which my wife finds too fierce on start up and when cruising at lower speeds. Hi all, Just a little help needed about tyre size. I have a Woosh Sirocco cdl with a 700 x38c tyre fitted. If I change the tyre can I fit a 40c or a 37c and what would the effect be. Thanks for any help. Danny

Hi all From reading this forum I understand that electric motors are most efficient at certain RPM. How would I know the correct cadence to use for my Santana CDL Presumably it would be the same in all gears.Hope somebody can help. Thanks

I have the same thing on my Woosh and I think it is because I bought shorter stemmed valves and the tyer can't sit down enough in the rim as the inner tube is holding it out.

Hi mags, 8 kilos sounds like a lot of weight to have on your steering and up high. My jack russel was OK in a basket for a short time but as he got bigger we both became very unstable, in a wobbly sense, so now I use a trailer. Have done hundreds of miles here and abroad and he loves it. He weighs 8 kilos and when I let him out and he runs ( on safe paths) the weight loss is quite noticeable.

Wye not make something with sheet ply, waterproof it then cover with material. Would be more secure and could be held on with straps or bungees.

I often ride my Woosh with a trailer with a Jack Russel in it. When he gets out and runs it makes a hell of a difference and he is only 8 kilos

I find if I hold the panier horizontally I can get the clips between the rack and battery, it then drops vertically into position.

I had this problem on my Sirocco, put a small bungee over the battery and job done.

As timidtom says the way to go is a tow bar rack, fit in a minute and solid. I have been using one for a few years with two Wispers on with no problems.

Many thanks for all your replies, I have checked the settings and can find no way to change the sleep mode. It is the trip mileage that I would like to keep but I shall have to get into the habit of taking a reading every time I stop for a break and then adding it to the new trip reading.

If I park my Woosh Siroco CDL for more than a few minutes the king meter powers down and I loose my ride data. Is there anyway to extend this power down to say about an hour. Love the bike, been riding on the French cycle paths with the dog in the trailer (when he's not running) and had a great holiday. Many thanks for any help. Danny

I don't know if it will help but when I have this no charge problem with my imax because of low voltage I tell it that they are nicad cells, it then charges and after a few minutes when the voltage rises I switch it back to lipo.

I have arthritis in my right thumb which for various reasons means I have had to move my throttle to my left hand bar. All works well but the twist grip now works in the opposite direction ( away instead of toward me ) and I can't get used to it. Is it possible to alter the throttle or does anyone know where I can by a left hand one. The existing one is fitted to a Whisper 906 city with battery indicator lights and an on/off switch. Danny

Over the last few weeks I have been making some booster cells with old laptop 18650 cells. I have gone down the cutting the original battery wires route and it is working fine so far. I am not sure of the capacity but believe it to be in the region of 8ah.So far I have made 3 packs (2x36v and 1x24v) at a total cost of less than £30 Even if they don't last long it has been good fun.
