  1. Hi All After posting on here a little while back about a bike that was deemed to be too high powered for an e-bike i took a look around at more road legal e-bikes and wanted to still purchase from the same company so i went ahead and bought myself an Elysium loop which is a restricted 250w road legal 15.5 MPH folding bike which fits nicely in the car. https://ebikefactory.com/uk/vintage-ebikes/elysium-loop-from-549-99.html With it coming in at 550.00 it was much cheaper than the Cyclotricity Wallet so thought i would give it a go. All seems good so far and the range on the battery lets me get around for about 25 miles to 30 miles. If anyone else has any other feedback for me if they own one that would be great Ross
  2. Good Morning All I had previously asked about Elysium Relay bikes 500W but didn’t get much advice. I just realized I hadn’t shared the link to the product, here it is: https://ebikefactory.com/uk/commuter-electric-bikes-2/elysium-relay-17-500w-21ah.html Does anyone have experience with them? Ross
  3. Hi All Looking at getting one of the Elysium relay bikes in 500w. I currently have a stealth 1000w but feel the power of the 1000w is not really needed for the type of journeys i now have to do. Was going to go for one of the Elysium relays in 500w just in case i want to use this option off road at some point, does anyone have any experience with the product itself? In terms of how it rides and how much range they have had from it etc? I have heard mainly good things but just wanted to see if anyone had any input Ross
  4. Hi There, I like the sound of shops and such likes getting together for doing a charging scheme for when you are passing by as this sort of promotes being a bit more social whilst out e-biking. Would definitely be a help to the community. Ross
  5. Hi there and welcome to the forum, I have had that issue myself before but not with the same bike if i am honest, i am not 100% sure why there is a limit on the speed of an e-bike that means you cant do more than 15.5 MPH as there are plenty of other cyclists out there who do way more than that on their own power alone, all the e-bike does is help you along to the speed you want to do, but rules are rules and i am sure they have good reason so best off sticking by them. I know that 20 inch wheels accelerate faster than say the 26 inch wheels i have so i can imagine you get up to speed fairly quickly too. Ross
  6. Thats great to hear! it was a whole new experience for me when i got into it as well, so i got on board with all the new gear and stuff too. what sort of stuff do you ride with it? they seem like a fairly hard wearing kind of bike Ross
  7. Hi sefunlekite, Totally with you on that, among other things having two kids and a pretty demanding job make it difficult to have the time to get out and about. How are you looking to build your bike? with a kit or with a full frame set up and add to it etc? Either way there are plenty of options and lots of people on here will be able to point you in the right direction Ross
  8. Hi There! Welcome to the forum! i am sure you will find all the useful information you may need here as there are some very knowledgeable individuals always looking to help. How are you finding the new trek? i actually acquired some nerve damage in my left leg which is what pushed me towards my first e-bike and couldn't be happier now i have gone to one Ross
  9. I had no idea they had a stealth page on Facebook I will have to have a gander, may be useful to have a page I can go to with any questions and stuff like that! As for the motors, those do look to be the ones.
  10. Yeah I agree with you there, its not fantastic without the assistance but then again it is designed to have that assistance there! even riding mine without the battery isn't great but its better than when I have ran it flat and just kept on going. I have seen all the upgrades you have made to yours and very much approve! looking to do some more myself once I'm done with the Christmas season and have a little extra cash. Brakes were the best upgrade I have purchased so far. Ross
  11. I have found it to be quite good a pulling up hills to be honest! I recently went out to a local trail place and the conditions were pretty sloppy, it didnt really bog down too much in the slop and i found it to pull uphill quite well still even doing the odd wheel spin when it got very steep Ross
  12. That's looking a bit different! But at least you still have all the cyclotricity gear on there, been looking at doing a conversion on a bike of mine as well as having my stealth, see what usage I can get from it sort of thing, maybe a bit more of a project Ross
  13. I had a go of the 500w before i bought my 1000w and i enjoyed it but i was a bit of a sucker for the extra power! its so much fun at high speed. Its really good for a day out on some mild trails with an extra battery. I think the motors are just a standard direct drive motor hub, seen quite a few of them around. Oh yeah i cant seem to own a bike without adding shiny bits i like it to have a little character Ross
  14. I have had my Cyclotricity Stealth for some time now and done around 3000 miles on it so I thought it was high time I made a review of what I think and what its capable of I started off with the standard stealth 1000w 12Ah 20 inch frame. It was getting about 10 miles from the 1000w mode which was ok for my commute and when on 250w mode I could get about 25 miles. Overall it was a very comfy ride and made my commute loads better than my previous bikes have been. good top speed from the direct drive motor hub, but I was more interested in just generally having a good smooth ride for work. I have used it off road a good few times now and its very fun on light trails but would benefit from some better suspension in this situation which I may well invest in yet. A good few months ago now, maybe even back in summer I cant quite remember I upgraded a few bits on the stealth. Bought one of the first few 16AH batteries Cyclotricity had and it increased my range on 1000w mode to 16 miles give or take and 250w mode to 30-35 miles I think. I also swapped out my 6 inch mechanical brakes for 7 inch hydraulic brakes which made a huge improvement to the braking, stops extremely fast no matter what speed I manage to get to on it, these weren't provided by Cyclotricity but they have advised in the near future they will be able to provide these as an extra. I bought the Tektro E-350. Last upgrade I have made that has stuck so far is a KT-LCD-3 which has a lot more information that the previous one I had and it sits nicely over the top of the handlebars where the stem is instead of off to the side. I have had a lot of different sets of pedals and cant quite settle on a set yet also. I have changed my saddle and post to an old race face and Bontrager combo which has made the seating feel a tad more familiar too. Overall I would say its a very good bike especially for the price which was nears as makes no difference 1200 from new, the service I have gotten every time I needed some advice has been very good also, quick turn around on my parts when I had a faulty wheel. Some pictures from the end of summer time: Hope this review is useful to anyone considering a new ebike for commuting or just having some fun! Ross
  15. Sounds like you are having a great time with it there and i definitely like the sound of the stationary gear changes for when stopping and setting off again that sounds great! good customer service there with the forks too, good to see company's that think about their customers and wanting to keep them rolling Ross
  16. Those mods look and sound like they have made quite the improvement to the bike! Quite refreshing to see a modified version of the bike with some different aesthetic and some real ingenuity. Making me what to modify mine some more now, nice job! Ross
  17. Hi there, I do not actually own a kona ute but after a quick google search i know the basics of what you mean. I Totally agree with you that the 250w will probably be under powered for what it looks like that bikes usage is to be honest. you could easily get a 500w or 1000w conversion for it in a direct drive rear motor conversion which will add more torque for you to get the power you would need. battery type depends on how much clearance is actually there for a frame battery, failing that you can get a rack type battery at the rear and still keep the capability to use it for load. I have found my rear drive to feel loads better in terms of balance to a front drive motor also. As for the other components to the conversion they will be much easier to deal with. personally i would say a 500w will give you the best combination of torque and range in terms of miles from charge. The conversion i have done was through Cyclotricity, had one of their bikes for commuting for the best part of the year now as well. Hope this has been a little help for you at least! Ross
  18. Welcome to the forum, what is the cube like? i am looking into some brands i am not familiar with at the moment and cube is one of them, ive only heard good things though! Ross
  19. welcome to the forum! you are definitely going to find any useful knowledge you may well need right here, people are always looking to help. I helped a friend convert a tandem a little while back with the help of a kit from Cyclotricity and it worked a treat. There are plenty of forums members full of useful information i have found Ross
  20. Hi there Rob, Welcome to the forum! I am very confident you will find any information you need here regarding e-bikes and conversion kits etc as i have seen some very intelligent individuals on this forum always looking to help when they can Ross
  21. Hi There, They are a fairly new addition to the Cyclotricity range as far as i am aware. I did have the 12 ah up until about September when they got them in, as soon as i head they had them i wanted to extend my range so bought one straight away. Mine was not bought through the website so not sure if they are on there or not. With regards to the led light on the battery they are not the best of indicators but i have always found the load meter to be pretty accurate and it helps you know how much of the battery you are using at any given time. Hope this helps! Ross

That is my kind of place! i could ride there no matter what the weather is like, seems like the perfect place to ride Ross
  23. Hi

Ross_Dr replied to Vinney222's topic in Introduce Yourself!
agreed! i used a set of mechanical brakes before my hydraulics on standard 7 inch rotors and they were an improvement of the 6 inch but not by tonnes, now i am on 7 inch rotors with a hydraulic system and they stopping power is crazy in comparison. plus the discs are premium type instead of stock Ross
  24. Hi

Ross_Dr replied to Vinney222's topic in Introduce Yourself!
it really doesn't seem like 3 or 4 feet in the video but I guess that's fair enough, v brakes have always been enough for me commuting they aren't by any means insufficient. I do have discs myself but that was just because I like working on them more Ross
  25. Hi

Ross_Dr replied to Vinney222's topic in Introduce Yourself!
doesn't look like there's much in it to be honest! I know the discs are better but not by tonnes, all depends on calliper and disc set up etc. Ross
