Pendleton Somersby electric bike battery charge query
I know that with my wifes Pendleton if the battery rocker switch is off, only the lowest bar shows on the battery. If the rocker switch is on it shows the actual level

Bike Workstand
I bought one of these last year and can't fault it. I've not had it go vertical on me yet with a hub motor and battery at the rear. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they still have some of the memory saddles when I get down there!

Fastest ebike charge?
I think that what VFR was getting at was that some people only like to charge to 80%, which I believe stops the BMS from balancing the cells.

Newbe looking for good hints and tips
I'd say at the very least one of those cycling multi tool thingys. I didn't think I'd need tools with a brand new bike. On my first ride to work my saddle came loose where it attaches to the post. Trying to ride whilst also holding the saddle in place with clenched butt cheeks for 7 miles was difficult to say the least!

One of three (I think!!)
Forgot to say, This is a review I did on my Wisper 705se if you were to consider them https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/wisper-705se-review.38513/

Fastest ebike charge?
It was only a joke. It's the Arc Reactor that Tony Stark uses to power his Iron Man armour in the Marvel universe. I think we are many centuries before we see a fusion/nuclear reactor this small! Even though in Back To The Future II there was the Mr Fusion Home Energy Reactor in the future of 2015!

I can recommend Wisper. I use mine for the same sort of thing that you mentioned in your first post. I did have a problem with it, but Wisper collected the bike, fixed it and had it returned within a couple of weeks. Their aftersales is second to none. I've also heard great things about Woosh on this forum.

My 705se is great up hills. I have the version with the torque sensor and handle bar throttle. It carries me (at 13 stone) up Bristol's 13.4% Park Street easily using the throttle and a low gear. I'm not sure on the newer models, but if you put mine in PAS 5 it acts as a cadence sensor anyway. I did a review on it a while back if that helps https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/wisper-705se-review.38513/

KTM E-Style P .
I decreased the wheel size on my Wisper's display and increased the top speed of the electric assistance. There is a natural limit on what you will get out of it though, I think the motors are capable of between 18-20mph before they run out of steam!

Brand New Wisper 705se Grinding Brakes
Hopefully the last update! The grinding came back after about 100 miles so Wisper have taken the bike back to look at. They have confirmed that the suspension forks are flexing forwards and back, as well as up and down. This is causing irregular pressures on the disc and pads. New forks are on order and I hope to have the bike back soon Thanks again to David and the team for the continuous support and communication throughout.

GPS Tracker for £2 a month
Good to see it next to something for reference. Have you managed to hide it somewhere on your bike?

Very squeaky back brake on Wisper 705
Thanks David, I have been in contact with Claud who agreed have the bike back to diagnose. The transport box I ordered arrived today, so I shall pack it up and let Claud know when it's ready for collection. Cheers, Dan

Very squeaky back brake on Wisper 705
I think I may have the same problem as you. https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/brand-new-wisper-705se-grinding-brakes.37321/ New pads seem to cure it for about 100 miles or so, but then the noise comes back David @ Wisper had been great at trying to fix the issue over the phone and on here, but I feel it may need to go in and be looked at now.

e-bikes under £1,200 to fit a child seat
I can just about fit a child seat on my Wisper 705se. I just had to stretch out the foot rests around the pannier/battery rack. I've not noticed that its too rear heavy at all and my little one is 4 now. Being that it's a step through does make it easier to get on when she is seated!

GPS Tracker for £2 a month
Just saw this GPS tracker from Vodafone and it looks quite good. £20 up front, then £2 a month. 7 days battery life Waterproof https://eshop.v.vodafone.com/uk/curve-gps-tracker?cid=psoc-UK_20_08_P_X_K_G_A_CBU_PageTest_Drive_FBIG_Static_IOT_NA_Curve_bags1_AI_AI-Paym-Customers_Conversions_ST-IoTUK_AlwaysOn&kpid=fb_cmp-23845403965250260_adg-23845403965270260_ad-23845403965340260&utm_source=Paid-Social-Media&utm_medium=Static&utm_creative=UK_20_08_P_X_K_G_A_CBU_PageTest_Drive_FBIG_Static_IOT_NA_Curve_bags1_AI_AI-Paym-Customers_Conversions_ST&utm_campaign=23845403965340260&vfadid=23845403965340260#slate

Battery care?
I agree, I have a 36V 375W battery and I get 30+ miles out of it riding around Bristol's hills

How many of you also own and ride a regular bike?
Yep, the bike covered 20 miles before the motor failed. There was a 2 month wait to get it into Halfords for them to fix it. They replaced the motor, tested it, said it was working. When I got it home exactly the same thing happened. All power lost to the motor. I'm now waiting for them to take it in again.

Convert to manual bike?
Well done Annie, you've had a bit of luck there! It could well be that the range of the battery is decreased now due to the amount of time that it has been left standing. Don't try to cover the miles that you could with the bike two years ago before doing some shorter test runs!

I have an electric Wisper, and my wife has an electric Pendleton which hasn't worked since she got it 4 months ago. So technically, we have one electric and one non electric bike!

Battery care?
I charge mine overnight using a cheapo mechanical timer (One of the 24hr ones with a big dial and tab like thingys) I just set it to turn off after 6 hours as this is how long it takes to charge the battery (including an hour for BMS rebalancing)
