Well used and abused bike Had great fun over the years. Selling as spares or repair http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/alpino-6mph-problem.29073/ as the splutter has returned after son hosed down the bike again - so fed up and it has to go I still have the wifes 705 bike as a spare - it is as new and has seldom been used but it has the smaller battery My Alpono has a new 16Ah battery from Mary,Jimmy and the Insat Team. 16Ah battey re-celled Don't mind selling the bike with or without the bigger battery.....could keep it as a spare. Bike is near Lanark in Scotland

That's what it was.........or the display doesn't like the right hand side

Bike must have been having a bad week............now cured bike back to performing well after moving the LCD display

Not clear as to what you mean by upside down? Surely this can't be the problem after the bike worked fine for years. The LCD faces me The display is what I see from the seat. The Up button worked to increase the power delivery as I could see the extra setting on the display and similarly with the Down button as this would decrease the power input. All this worked as intended when I bought the bike and never had a problem until this 6kmh problem surfaced. Before I contact Claud - do you David know of a fix. Hope you can oblige as it might help others who might have this problem in the future. From your experience - what do you think it is? Motor/ LCD/ wiring or another

Is this a new error code- it doesn't flash Tried out the set and down button whilst out on my wee run and got this display. Don't want to cart the bike off somewhere if I can fix it here which would save this auld pensioner some pennies?

Bike is how I bought it. LCD on right hand side. Handlebars won't cause the symptoms I have described! Wifes Wisper bike is in the backgrond

Never bothered to peel it off. Bought bike with less than 50 miles on it from a chap in Oban - so not a company. Pressed Set button and Down button together to show any error codes Nothing - no error code displayed. David -Is the problem I am experiencing unique or can the remedy be discussed on the forum here which might help others in the same situation? D8veh - I'm near Lanark in Scotland Oh and I like your 'The golden rule is that there are no golden rules.'

Don't have the manual LCD Hope it is just a matter of pressing a few buttons to reset........

Today Light pedaling with no twist grip action and I get pulses of power Using the twist grip I get smooth power until I reach 6kmh then switching off/no power but after a short time (a few seconds) it is back to pulses of power LCD display is slow to indicate actual speed and can sit at 2kmh at rest then to zero LCD display top horizontal bar only has gone from speedo reading- ie 2-3-5-7-8 and 9 is missing Really miss the smooth power delivery that the bike once had. Helps me up those wee hills. Anyone have a fix to this bike problem?
  10. 289 replied to 289's topic in Wisper Clinic
Didn't know you could change the speed limit. Can i reset the speed limit? How? No - the bike was never like this from new. Problem started this morning and was noticeable immediately. Yesterday - you twisted the throttle without pedaling and the bike would pull up to full speed. Also when you pedaled it would assist thro' the speed range. Now it cuts out at anything over 6kmh - either pedalling or using the twist grip Symptoms similar to flat(ish) battery cutting out but without warning indicators showing. Hope it is an easy fix by pressing a few buttons on the dash. Edit......have I pressed a few buttons on the dash by mistake to cause this problem?
  11. Bike has let me down. Power delivery pulses once I reach 6 kmp It then cuts out as if the battery is low - but there is no warning codes flash on dash. Battery is fully charged When I switch on I get the 4 full charge lights. Usually charge up when dash shows 2 charge lights When I use the hand throttle the bike pulls away fine with power delivery as normal untill 6kph when it switches off power and just gives me pulses of power On/Off Can I reset something?
  12. Just done this and had a great service from Mary,Jimmy and the Insat Team. 16Ah battey re-celled, case repaired, new charger, all collected and delivered for a VERY reasonable cost. I was very happy with the Chineese battery that I fitted to the wifes 705Wisper and thought about going that route again but decided to give the Insat team a chance with my Alpino Wisper bike. Just back from my first outing with the new improved battery and can highly recommend this cost effective method for a new battery. Wi her new hips and ma new battery.....oor wee dug will need to keep up wi these auld pensioners Just waiting on some sunshine for SWMBO and the dug to join me in our outings wi the bikes.
  13. D8veh and Vidtek spot on. Just about to forward battery and payment to get battery re-celled at a very reasonable cost. Courier collection and delivery included in this UK service. Was just about to go again to China then contacted UK comapny after reading post above. This auld pensioner and his wife are looking forward to be soon oot and aboot on oor bikes.
  14. China for me again......going on price alone There does seem to be a market for Wisper battery re-cells as others have shown. Why don't you ask your supplier to help with this request? A sale is better than no sale at all.
  15. It isn't an auction site that the battery is advertised. it is DHGate.........I'm sure they have rules and proceedures. What is the Ah rating of your £299 small battery ??? The problem is the price of a new 16Ah Wisper battery......when all that is required is a replacement pack. SWMBO would not let me spend £555! that is five hundred and fifty five pounds on 1 battery to get me up 2 wee hills I'm sure you could make enquiries on behalf of current Wisper owners to your supplier. Perhaps another supplier would be willing to help. Perhaps there is a business opportunity here for an importer of just battery packs Well over a £200 saving is more than a few quid to this old pensioner
  16. Importer of just 1 battery can lead to all this??? I had no idea A downed ship, plane or house destroyed is alarming. I never gave that a thought when I ordered the 36V 12 Ah battery for SWMBO DH Gate allow these companies to advertise their products on their site should warn everyone and make this clear to customers of just 1 battery I was trying to save a little on a £555 quote. I did pay all duties owed last time! and that 12Ah battery including all fees/taxes amounted to just £125 as an aside IF the house burned to the ground...all paperwork would be lost! What size is the small Wisper battery that'll cost me £299?
  17. Wife's bike with new 36V12Ah battery pack from Chine (DHgate) still going strong Now my own bike battery has now given up after 5800klm 4 lights to 1 going up two small inclines after full charge and then cutting out on the last incline China again to the rescue with a custom battery pack that they say WILL fit inside my battery case.........36V 20AH Price for a smaller 16Ah pack is $299 then a wee bit for tax with the 20Ah - $399 A bit steeper than last time given the exchange rate and the bigger battery pack
  18. The only thing I can ad was the outlet charger socket. Basically- out with the old and in with the new. If ever the Chineese 2A charger fails I'll use the original Wisper 4A charger You can see the Chineese plug on her bike with my own wisper charger plug in the background. The Wisper charger socket has 3 pins BUT only 2 wires are connected so it is possible to cut and solder to replace. From the outside the Wisper battery case would be untouched......only the cell pack would give the game away.
  19. £125 total to get her bike working. New battery cell and charger inc delivery and all taxes from China! -A bargain. Came within 10 days and took 5 minutes to fully charge. Actually thought the charger had failed, but no, everything was OK SWMBO is now happy which makes me happy
  20. 1st run this morning..........wife happy=me happy Removed the wisper charger connection which left a hole in the case for the new Chineese charger cable to pop thro'. Looking at the 3 pin wisper charger connection......only 2 wires are used so I could have still used the wisper charger by soldering the Chineese wires to the wisper charger connection inside the battery case Again......many thanks for the input regarding the battery cell. What a saving !
  21. A wee bit of help needed with the wiring. Lee, I hope you can oblige Only 2 wires from the chineese cell pack (Red/Black) + the charger wire Wisper has 4 wires coming from cell pack.....? (2Red/2Black) Battery arrived quickly and well packaged but no UK plug. It fits well in my Wisper case http://i62.tinypic.com/2rr4aw9.jpg Looking at my opened up wisper case I can see 3 red wires from the Key switch. http://i60.tinypic.com/2upehvr.jpg http://i61.tinypic.com/2lliutf.jpg Questions: 1-Can I use my wisper charger?.......instead of the supplied Chineese one Don't want to alter the wisper case if possible and would prefer to alter the Chineese charger wires to my Wisper outlet. 2 Did you just connect the Chineese cell pack to the Wisper plug and do away with the top and bottom fuse holders? 3 I have a broken off thick red wire, quite long, from the key switch that goes somewhere.......does it go to the bottom fuse holder? Would like to keep the Wisper wiring complete as possible and adapt What did you do?
  22. £108 for the battery and got stung with VAT this morning for another £15. Border Force are good! Battery should arrive shortly Fingers crossed all goes well and SWMBO can get out and about on her bike. For well well under the £500+ price of a new one this is a huge huge saving. It begs the question-Is there a market over here for a reasonably priced recelling of our battery cases? Thanks Lee for the heads up on the battery.
  23. Just sent for one. How long did yours take to arrive after placing your order? Did you manage to escape the BorderForce charge?
  24. Even cheaper....... http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/chinese-battery.21834/ OK, it's not a 16Ah but I'm only interested in getting SWMBO back out exercising. Her 2 hip ops caused the old battery /bike to be abandoned for a couple of years Everything on the bike was OK....only drained to zero and needed a recell.
  25. Looks like it'll fit in my case so that is a +ve What was involved in purchase? Did you just fill in your details and make paypal payment via the web page form? Hope you can oblige as never bought parts outside UK
