Lapierre Electric Bikes come the the UK!..

Haibike amt pro. First impressions? ;)
Would be seriously annoyed if my local dealer said bike needs to go to Germany , why have a local dealer ? Warranty is the dealers responsibility or why buy from him . This is a 6k bike not a £500 cheapie Obviously not a dealer just a transit point to take the profit I buy japanese motor bikes , sorry sir it has to go back to Japan for a new motor . Get real for goodness sake. This is why muppets like this dealer who sell these bikes should be shut down . My wisper bought from a local dealer was fixed within 2 days by them , new motor, Superb service. Martin on here is the only person I would buy a haibike off.

Abuse when wearing helmet cam
Do not get upset by a few mindless chimps I just think of all the extra cake I can eat after the ride. As with most abusive people , it's usually a lack of intelligence

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?
In 20 years never had to bleed any brakes , on 10 bikes . Worn a few pads though , some on one downhill section. Just get occasional fade on some cheaper pads Brakes from magura , avid , SRAM , shimano

Haibike Xduro Race
Tend to disagree about any warranty issues. I have bought 2 bikes from Germany , only issue has been when I had to send it back to be updated. Not a great deal can go wrong . Cost me £90 through schenker to ship . They sent it back foc . Total time 7 days. Also the support has been better than uk distributors on my other bikes . Not to mention any names but one slippery supplier was like a cat being sick , "they move backwards"

Schumacher's Helmet
More important than helmets , is proper cycling lanes away from the traffic . Now if one of our so called muppet leaders came up with this . It would get my vote . This has to be the only country in Europe why cyclists are classed as badgers

Schumacher's Helmet
Yes I agree with flecc , on average most cycle journeys are very un eventful , most cyclists ride at a very safe pace , so minimising any risk. As always each to their own , and would never impose my equipment choice on others. Skiing for me is different. As stated, I have skied off piste and it can be very risky for the most experienced , what is strange, is that shuey decided to ski very early in the season which increases the danger.

Schumacher's Helmet
Helmet debate will always be an issue . Had a met giro which connected with a tree stump with me in it. It saved all my teeth and possible head trauma . Split right in half but did its job . Until you have a fall and then think what if . Another incident on the road bike doing 35mph on a slight downhill bend , hit 15 yards of cow slurry , slid off into a garden , my head rattled along the ground for 30 feet approx . Helmet was nice and groovy , not a mark on me apart from cow s&&t.

Schumacher's Helmet
I use the cortex flow for downhill and trabec MIPS for general cross country , road . What I like is the lower back skull protection on the trabec. For snow, runs skull comp swedes , off piste I use the cortex flow. I did a few black runs , way above my expertise . The worst feeling ever was on the way down I knew I was out of my depth .

Stromer ST1Platinum.
I have ridden one , very storckish if that makes sense. Good quality but not for anybody who wants a electric motorbike . I also own a stealth bomber , which is a different beast altogether , John the owner of stealth shipped mine across a few years ago . Had a few battery issues but goes like stink . Offroad only as it should only be ridden fully suited and booted , as the speed is crazy. I use mine instead of an mx bike , making it silent for stalking .

Schumacher's Helmet
Being an avid skier and dh / road anything that involves speed . Wearing a helmet is a must , what is scary about skiing is the off piste hidden objects. It tends to be the blunt trauma that causes most of the fatalities . On a bike you tend to slide hopefully not into an immovable object. I always wear poc helmets and arai or schuberth on my motor bikes , my head is kind of precious to me.

its too cold, or i am too feeble
For my casual winter rides I wear , warmthru heated gloves and thermic heated foot beds . And a ninja balaclava

why do you have more than one bike.......
What's even more exciting is how far the ebike technology has come in 5 years. For me the companies driving a very niche product should be applauded . Hey I may have 6 ebikes come spring 2014. In 10 years hover ebikes.

why do you have more than one bike.......
I have 8 pedal bikes , 4 ebikes , 3 motorbikes

Optibike SIMBB 29C now available for pre order
In fairness to optibike , jim turner is very passionate about his bikes. Having been an owner and helping to improve what I saw as faults . Jim constantly strived to put right what needed to be improved on . The 600, 800, 850, 1100 were at one time way ahead of the competition. The adoption of the Rohloff drive , me being the 1st in the world to integrate it into my bike , improved the reliability no end . Opti adopted this as the premium bike kit. For me the only downfall apart from the premium price , was the battery issues. Opti would fulfil their warranty , but trying to ship a 36volt 22amp battery back to Colorado as hazmat was let's say more than the battery was worth . I loved my opti overpriced , overpowered , over noisy . But boy was it fun. All the time I have spoke to jim and Craig , they have been completely honest about their specs and designs, whether this new bike is a little late to the party , time will tell . For me the guys at opti have been at the forefront of e transport for many years. Fanboy , I once was a big fan. But for those who know me , I am not prone to guff Dr Cake

Fifth London Cyclist dies in nine days
I also assume the cycling stop box is for cars to use . Never seen it enforced yet ? What I also find strange is how the motor vehicle driver cannot wait 10 secs to safely pass . The fact I have 3 cars and 3 motor bikes does not stop me getting abuse about not paying road tax. Sadly cyclists will still lose their lives , and the blonde chimp from London blames the cyclist without full facts.
-
I read about this airbag helmet thing. What do you think?
On a side note . When using my helmet, cars get closer . When with the wife they go on the otherside of the road. Must know her

Fifth London Cyclist dies in nine days
This is becoming a joke , about time they had a full review of cyclist safety. We are spending billions on hs2 and crap all on cycling transport systems. About time that buffoon of a mayor went. Rant over......

ACF-50 or GT85, too good to be true?
My chain on my Storck is now over 4500 miles , shimano . Not an ounce of slip yet , but I will swap cassette and front ring when due . I use acf 50 on all my motor bikes never had any rust . Put it on before winter , gets full of crap , clean off in spring , works a treat .
