  1. Geared hub is not mid drive. Mid drive is good too though.
  2. You get geared hub drives. The stuff sold by woosh whisper etc use them. You even get two speed hub drives D8veh has come up iron bridge on one. The direct drives tend to burst into flames trying that.
  3. I did Winterbourne to wellington and back on my bike one day the summerset levels are level. Use the strawberry line cycle path and there's not much hill climbing involved anyway.
  4. It's illegal, Direct drive hubs are not the best for hill climbing, geared hubs or crank drives are better. Otherwise standard Chinese parts. Safer with woosh or whisper or geenspeed.
  5. Some say never use the rear brake on a trike. The back locks and can spin round causing you to go sideways then oops. But enjoy it's fun
  6. It's not clear. A off road switch is prohibited. Not eu legal. The cyclomatic and BBS 01 can be reprogrammed to off road mode. If it's the second way it could be uk legal.
  7. Watts is how many amps times voltage. Batteries have a rated storage yours is 8.8 amp hours. It should be able to supply 15amps for half an hour then the battery is empty. If you do get greater current draw then the battery won't even last that long. A bigger battery will give improved range for the same power. Upping the current risks burning the motor out as well. You have issues but pedalling is simplest way to improve performance. Despite my health issues I've been able to average over 20kph without any assistance. Add the battery and it's over 30kph
  8. Why not get a job? Your not stupid and there's jobs in north Bristol area. An easy commute on your bike:D
  9. Two things offer to buy D8veh some beer he's Telford ish. He can tell you virtually everything about the practical use and setup of your electrics. Otherwise charge the battery then add as much assist as required and just cycle around. The assist works automatically when you pedal. Just up the level on the display. Or the throttle lets you boost the power as required.
  10. Please come back trex.
  11. It was to note that sane people commit murders? Your the mentality ill kill 80 it's statistics so not worth bandying around but a case could be made for insane killing less than the sane do. Or visa versa
  12. So the 500 murders by sane people per annum is fine then?
  13. Almost but not half. It's total weight so bike plus rider, say 75 kg rider +25 kg bike =100 kg an extra 25 for the velo gives 125kg so 20% slower but after cutout is will be lower resistance anyway.
  14. I'm not sure the wife would let me either:( Never mind it was a nice idea
  15. Check you metric figures core temperature of 27 Celsius and your almost dead. It's 36-38 Celsius your body is happy at. Pedantic but this one is life critical.
  16. I suspect it's because unassisted it's easy enough to do 25mph on the flat. The assist should still cut out at 15.5 ish. Sales people don't you just believe everything they say.
  17. And lots from us as well. Do you need another slip? I'm sure we could help you with your garments.
  18. Keep the gears. Me plus bike is 120Kg an extra kilo for the gears is nothing compared to the ability to spin up hill and still zip off down again at reasonable cadences. Unless you and the bike weighs less than 50 Kg that is.
  19. No it's a geared hub motor. At 50 kg it would be slower up park street but on the flat It would leave most bikes for dead. And down hil
  20. Yes I forget how you access the settings. Have a google. You could also change wheel size to trick the speedo but still have an apparently legal cutoff.
  21. Er you change the speed limit with the display. You didn't need to touch the pic and settings.
  22. Here's a business opertunity for you. Velomobiles cost a fortune as D8veh said. A £3000 canopied trike would sell here and in Europe. It's a nice market but could open up widely. My thoughts have ran between home build and converting one myself. The body is a pain but makes helps the speed immensely.
  23. 65 cells is the greater total power. Delivery is similar but higher voltage gives slightly higher peak power.
  24. First fix your gears. You should have 11-26 minimum. Yes 90 is a good cadence, it is age limited and with fitness. Given age and fitness are you not happy with 15-20 mph, your obviously using an illegal setup. That's your choice but you have a boost over anyone elas.
