In answer to some questions I've been asked, I'm in Northampton and the battery I'd say it is still in good order. Since owning the bike I've only ever started a ride on a full charge, the furthest I've ever been was about 38 miles when I first brought the bike. I've always used 1/3 power on the flat & 1/1 power on hills. last Saturday I did 30 miles & the battery had one of the five lights left on. Yesterday I covered 10 miles on bridal-ways and still had 4 lights on. The last two rides were for comparison purposes only, I've been trying to justify keeping the bike as I still love it, but I'll get fitter without it !!! Both rides were duplicated the following days on my non powered hybrid and just as enjoyable, hence putting the Kalkhoff up for sale.

Here we have my Agattu, I've owened it from new (2008) and have covered less than 900 miles. It helped me no end while my knees were bad, but I'm not getting the use out of it anymore, so it's time for a new owner:rolleyes: http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b603/Carlbuggy/image_zps709833df.jpg It has a big squishy specialised seat as the postmodern seatpost suffered sticky tubes (as they all seam to do ) and became rock solid. Your bound to ask, How much ? Well that's a good question. I've spent a few months now finally coming to the decision to sell, as it's such a nice bike and I'll be sad to see it go:( But it's only collecting dust in the garage. So let's say £850 and see how it goes. Inspection & a test ride is not only recommended, it's essential to appreciate how good these bikes are (security will be required) For more information send me your email via personal message & we can talk.
3. XT60 every day I'm big into RC and over the last 12 months I have been upgrading from deans (so last year ) to XT60's I've done 6 speed controllers and to many lipos to count ! What finally convinced me to change was Hobbyking, I was getting more & more new battery's with XT60's fitted as standard and now there's no going back, easier to use and a better connection (IMO) I'd put deans on my nicad's XT60-----the new industry standard (unofficial)
4. I don't own a touch phone but I do have somthing like this, & my friends I-phone works in it Just a handy position foe easy access while riding (keys, phone, snickers LOL) Waterproof Cycle Bicycle Bike Pannier Frame Front Tube Bag Pouch For Cell Phone | eBay Oh, it's cheep as chips as well
5. MK has quite a few members so might be a good area for a meet. I'd probably need to car my bike there as my bike battery from Duston to MK would probably only be able to make it there & back without and cycling around while I'm there !
6. growbag I like the idea and riding a non assisted bike as well as my Agatu, I recently found a few sites of interest. The first one I came across was "cycle buddy" a site for getting fellow cyclists together. I went through the process of putting all my details in and in no time I found 8 riders within a mile of my postcode and I sent them all a message :o) Well after a week and no reply's, I looked deeper & found there was a forum linked to the site but very few users, in fact there was an average of one new post a month :o( Cycle buddy may not be a dead site but its certainly coughing up blood. I've also found "sky-ride" linked to British cycling, there's more going on there but were still in single figures and thats for local un powered riders. I'm more than happy to get out with fellow pedelec owners but how many are there near to me ? Perhaps to get the ball rolling a forum savy person could do a map showing our locations (I'm in Duston Northampton) the web makes the world seam a lot smaller but it's no so small when your looking for your nearest fellow e bike owner ;o) PS quite a few members don't put there location in there details !
7. I'm quite new to this forum and have just been through most of the last 11 pages of posts. If the problem is how to avoid getting wet when cycling in London, I think your all missing an obvious solution, ride inbetween the trains on the underground

My saddle went in the post today, soon to arrive at Steven's Thanks to all :o

Hi folks, it seams nobody wants a new saddle at the moment:( Perhaps I could tempt someone if I offered it for sale at £38 posted I'm sure the price is fair but a bargain is only a bargain if it something you want:D
10. Like most folks, I want to go faster & further, I recon I'm old / wise enough to know where and when to go fast, but there are to many out there that don't. I've seen many cyclists without e-power riding like idiots on cycle paths shared with pedestrians.

Well who's the fool now, that will be me then:rolleyes: Here's my new brooks B67S pre aged saddle It came yesterday, it was fitted in not time and I got out on my 15 mile route as soon as I could. The bad bit ! Due to some strange combination of pressure points, my sciatica has flared up after years of cycling with no pain. I did try adjusting the saddle position many times during my 15 mile ride but to no avail. I dare not use this saddle again, so will take a hit to the wallet and offer it for sale at £45 posted. Just to confirm I'm asking £45 & (I will cover the postage) for my as new brooks B67S saddle having covered only 15 miles. (PayPal prefered)
12. As it happens, I've just won a new saddle from the bay this very evening:o almost the exact opposite to your purchase:p a spring mounted Brooks B67 Unless you've got some excellent padding in your shorts, after a few miles your butt cheeks will look like two waffles and probably feel like they've been in the frying pan;) Comfort wins the day:rolleyes: well it dose for me !
13. I'm in the market for a new brooks saddle and came across this one Old Original Leather Brown Vintage Brooks Cycle Bike Saddle | eBay
14. A bit more reading and I think I've found what I was after ! The 2 outer pins on the drive unit = + & - the middle pin is for the Battery Meter. My plan would be simply to disconnect the main battery ( if & when its to low to get me home ) and connect a 7S 5 amp lipo (£43) in its place ( I'd use a low voltage alarm (£2) plugged into the balance lead ) sound like a plan
15. I'm in Duston, Northampton NN5
16. Sorry if this question has already been asked, but I've searched and can't find the answer. I now seam to be running my Agattu on longer & longer rides, getting closer to max battery range. I'm now concerned about running out of juice with miles of hilly peddling to get home. Here's the question. So before spending my hard earned on a new lipo (about £45) what are the pitfalls to putting a 7s 5000mah 25c lipo in place of the std battery. like having a reserve Note, my std battery has 5 connection points 1/+, 2/C (0v), 3/22.9v, 4/28.4v, 5/28.4 The battery connects to 3 pins on my bike that match these on the battery 1/+, 3/22.9v & 4/28.4v Thanks in advance for any advice:rolleyes:
17. I can't comment on the gazelle but I own a 7 speed Agattu and when I need/want to replace it with a newer model, I'd buy another Kalkhoff:)
18. Big fan of the radio show but the TV version doesn't come anywhere close. Now if you like radio comedy, have a look at 4extra online or DAB radio, it plays all the old radio 4 shows including the count:cool:
19. On order thanks. Not being a German speaker:mad: I wasn't sure when I first saw these, conformation from people that know these things is always a big help:)
20. Thanks d8veh for those links. My new sprocket is now on order. I'm normally a dab hand at finding stuff on the bay usually end up getting things from HK:D
21. Hard work ! I like to try things myself before asking stupid questions but after much searching, I can't find a 11 tooth motor sprocket for my 26v Agattu anywhere, 12's & 13's yes but no 11's. 50cycles did say they would let me know when they have stock but I'd like one now Dose anyone know who has these in stock. I'd even consider second hand if its in good order:)

23. Thanks for the advice flecc, with only 600miles on the clock, hopefully the chain set should be ok. I'll look out for a larger motor sprocket and see how much range I loose before changeling anything else. At the moment I cover 30 + miles on a full charge, 1/3 power most of the time & 2/3 for the hills (on 3/3 there doesn't seam any more power) Ps I've now found & reed the posting "agattu 11 tooth sprocket". I wish I'd found this forum when I first brought the bike
24. Hi there folks I'm sure some here have experience changing the gearing on Kalkhoff Agattu and could help point me in the right direction. Question, If I fitted a bigger motor sprocket, would I loose out on range & if so, by how much? Or is there another way to increase crank rpm? Although I'm happy to ride a no powered cycle on a 40 mile ex-railway route without issue, due to arthritis in the knees I have a problem with road work because of the many hills in my area. That's where my 26V Agattu comes in to it element, well almost ! The problem, My Agattu seams to have its max assistance around 50/60 rpm but my personal cadence is around 70/80 rpm, I can keep this up for most of the time, pedling slower normaly means more pressure on the knees = more pain. So on those killer hills where I need assistance the most, I'm forced to pedle slower and press harder to get the best out of the motor. PS : apart from the old railway line all my other potential routes are hilly, and those "killer hills" are steep enough to freewheel down reaching speeds of 30 mph. Any advice welcomed. Regards Carl
25. Hi there folks This being my first post I thought I'd say hello and a bit about me. After several knee ops over 20 or so years leaving me with no cartridge & arthritis, I finally brought a new Agattu from Loughborough. That was about 500 miles and 7/8 years ago :o( finding the Agattu a pleasant ride but a bit of a battleship compared to my previous 700c hybrid and one time being stuck without any juice 4 miles from home (hilly Northampton) killed my knees & left me totally bike shy. In the past few months I've got back into cycling and have been trying new routes of around 25 miles. I do each route twice over two days, once on the Agattu and then on a Trek hybrid (700/28c) & no suspension. The Agattu is a breeze on the open road, takes the sting out of the hills and still has 2 out of 5 lights on the battery, but the Trek loves those old railway tracks and the quick direction changes on the wooded trails, In fact today on the Trek I've done a 40mile round trip, (probably outside the range of the Agattu), mostly old railway track but the first & last 3 miles had some serious hills I had to walk up. So I'm still stuck wanting the best of both worlds. I'm tempted to strip out the Agattu front suspension forks, dynamo wheel, well everything i don't need to give it a more lively feel. Anywho, that's me, I hope you've all been enjoying the sun Carl
