April 29, 20169 yr I shall look forward to this Niche bike, Hey you could do a poll with a few options, and we can guess, although I realise you're short of time with such an important weekend coming up, I have a feeling it's going to be a quiet one this year. Good luck though.
April 29, 20169 yr Author Philip Green's old yacht is available if you fancy upgrading yours. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/inside-sir-philip-greens-opulent-7857760 Owning that would be my worst nightmare....I like my boat,I am allowed to steer it myself, park it myself and use it as a couple with my wife, in privacy. The crew get the most fun out of those big yachts, drinking the owners beer, partying when he's not there and the cost of running those boats is mind blowing....I parked next to Armani's latest jet drive toy,the crew told me they had just travelled 210 miles across the Adriatic at average speed of 45 knots, used 21000 litres of fuel. April 29, 20169 yr Woosh have also stopped bringing in the TS bike. AFAIK, the problem is not so much people don't like the TS, they just like the throttle better, easily 20 to 1 as KD said. The throttle is simpler to operate, more responsive and easily £70 cheaper. I bet you if Bosch fitted throttle to their bikes, a lot of people will prefer it too. All these developments could make that "which bike for me question" easier to answer. If the buyer isn't lazy we can at least discount two brands instantly.

If the buyer isn't lazy we can at least discount two brands instantly. it's nothing to do with being lazy. They wouldn't want a bike if they were. it's much more of a question of budget. The throttle costs under a fiver, the TS £70+, a significant percentage on the price of the bike for something that a lot of us don't even need (throttle or TS is only needed for hill start). You can regulate the assistance with just the assist levels and the built in cadence sensor on all the bikes. The Gtech is a good example of this 'KISS' approach. Edited April 29, 20169 yr by trex
April 29, 20169 yr A mate of mine had a boat for a while, smallish, but it had a cabin and somewhere to sleep. He got fed up with the running costs, a day trip to Hartlepool - about 15 miles in the car - cost him £100+ in fuel for the boat.
April 29, 20169 yr it's nothing to do with being lazy. I don't think that's the case, it seems to me that more and more people are looking at pedelecs as a sort of electric motor vehicle. We need a sticky post in this section, with the usual questions and answers, new members then quickly hone in on the types of bikes they should be looking at.
April 29, 20169 yr I don't think that's the case, it seems to me that more and more people are looking at pedelecs as a sort of electric motor vehicle. you are entitled to your views, but I can assure you that to most people I have shown an e-bike to, that's just not the case. Most people do not want to pay for things they don't need. If you give it to them for free, they will accept, nothing to do with wanting a motorbike.
April 29, 20169 yr There's a problem between forum members and guys that come on the forum looking for advice about bikes. We tend to be enthuiasts trying to get an ideal bike for our needs. In reality, there's not a massive difference in the function of different bikes except in special circumstances. The average guy probably wants an electric bike because he/she likes the idea of the freedom a bicycle offers, but he/she hasn't got the wherewithal or the motivation to put in the effort to propel it. All they want is a bicycle with easy pedalling. The easier, the better. Some of them will go on to become enthuiasts. and become more discerning. I've spent many hours at shows and in electric bike shops and listened to what the punters say. Most of them haven't a clue, so they'll take whatever the dealer says is best for them. Put them on any electric bike and they'll come back smiling. The first thing they say is, "wow". the worse ones to deal with are those that have done their "research" on the internet and come charged up with all the myths and fallacies that some people publish. If bicycles is bad, you should see all the bullsh!t that floats around electric guitars. In my massive collection, I have some that cost many thousands. My favourite to play cost £54 direct from China. I stuck a Gibson decal on the headstock, and everybody that played it said how nicely it played and how beautiful it sounded, and I had many offers for it if I ever wanted to sell it. There were normally gasps of disbelief when I showed them that the decal is a fake.
April 29, 20169 yr Glad to see thread has continued in better spirit. The debate was not centred around advice , good or bad, for bike purchase. In every case I read posters finished with try as many as possible in conditions you are likely to encounter.( or words to that effect) The contentious issue was D8veh deciding he can tell a poster he,s talking bolux for saying. "Bosch system gives as near as is possible a feeling of a natural bike" ( or very similar) That's not remotely bad advice,, completely subjective and should not give D8 ( or anyone else) the prerogative to tell poster he,s talking bolux. If pointing this out makes me argumentitive then so be it. Then thread is closed, and up comes Kudos demanding apologies,( for things nobody said??) completely negating moderators closure of thread.??? ?????? Amazingly d8 then tells insulted poster he should be apologizing ??? Like poster replied " who the f... does d8 think he is ?" My sentiments exactly. And before d8 and co start shouting about trying this bike or another.. I,ve tried an awful lot. I have not driven a Trabant but know full well it ain't going to drive like a Boxster.. Eventually there comes a time to give it a rest. In my opinion, for you, that time is now.
April 29, 20169 yr Eventually there comes a time to give it a rest. In my opinion, for you, that time is now. Oh, so totally agree! I often wonder what these people are like in real life? It seems a keyboard and a monitor give people the right to be rude, opinionated and overbearing! I ride 2 Haibikes, one Yamaha powered the other Bosch powered. I love them both but I'm a comparative newbie - I'd never for one moment recommend them to anyone asking for advice on which bike is best for them. As the experts here on the forum have said a million times - GO TRY A FEW OUT, then decide which is best for you.....

April 29, 20169 yr As far as I can see, this thread was started intentionally to cause friction between forum members, and as such should be removed. If nothing else, the thread should have been started here http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/forums/the-charging-post.10/ The following clip is the only thing that matters in respect of riding a chosen format of motor design and implementation, and optimises what riding an e bike should be about. I don't rate e-mtb coaching, but I do think that they are spot on with this, and should serve as an end to this thread. It certainly made me smile. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1708138742743469 . Edited April 29, 20169 yr by EddiePJ
