It was me that made the financial comment that was removed

I opened by saying my comments were based on no evidence whatsoever

However , in my line of work, I see a great many companies in serious financial distress. Initial dialogue often , very often, has the exact flavour that came off the email sent to d8veh .

I've more than a decades experience but still....it's just that, a generalised comment that I accept may have no basis in this specific case

Thanks , glad to know I was not hallucinating.

.. but I never attacked them. Why has he sent this message to me - except of course in this thread. I'd do the same to anybody that wants to call me names or otherwise insult me.
I never said you did!

No idea why you were singled about ..... there's some far more worthy candidates.

They moved locally, the details of the addresses are on this alternative link

links work for me but looks like to the old site, above link works just last place i worked kept changing address like that then went under.

why do they keep moving the reg office ?
Cause they've moved their main distribution centre / head office a couple of time

Oh dear! I hope you manage to resolve this little difficulty with the '50cycles' people Dave. I know there are some who love them and some who don't but they have been singularly successful over a long period of time in promoting electrically-assisted cycling and they have presented us with a few really good machines over the years.

Obviously, your knowledge of Ebikes is second to none and you are well-respected in the Ebike field so I would have thought it in '50cycles' interest to keep you onside, perhaps even employing you as a technical adviser on a small stipend.

I'd like to think it's simply a breakdown in communication at the root of this.

Tom

I'd like to think it's simply a breakdown

it is and lots and lots of them :)

You are a VERY bad person!

This sort of thing happens with 50 Cycles occasionally. They just need to switch Scott off, wait 10 seconds and then switch him back on again. This usually solves 90% of the problems.

Hi All,

Well at least the forum has got something interesting to talk about its been a bit stale for a while and not seen so many views since our last posting.

Thank for the interest in us!

To answer some of the odd questions or points on this thread.

Firstly I do not drink nor do I need a drink to speak my mind. I am more relaxed and happy than you can imagine. The only reason I came to be on this forum is that I had an alert on my phone that Dv8 or David was making snide remarks about my business and thought better to contact him directly to see whats up. I am glad it has been a source of entertainment for the haters out there a full transcript for your viewing to speculate, decipher and dwell on can be provided.

We have moved property HQ for the first time since 2009 because we simply grown out of 2000sft and now own our own property and moved in May last year to a 10000sqft property which we are very proud of.The building could not be more perfect for our purpose.

We are just refurbishing our new show room in Loughborough and invite anybody to come down and meet the wonderful friendly team we have and ride a good selection of electric bikes and have a cup of tea with us. We have moved shops a couple of times in London to try and find the perfect place for us which will be happening again this year as I think we have just about achieved this. Fingers crossed.

Our accounts for 2016 will be showing high growth and profitability which is very exciting for us as we have always led the way in the industry ever since 2003 introducing the first ever pedelecs by Honda and Pansonic. Introducing to the UK market Ezee, Kalkhoff, Panasonic 2:1, Impulse, Evo, Speed pedelecs, Ubco, Zero, Nuke lights and much more. We have some very exciting new development in 2017 to come so watch this space. This is our passion for the business, this is what we do.

50cycles was established and founded by two brothers inspired by a business trip to Japan who shared a passion to provide the best and latest electric bike technology to the UK market and to provide the best customer service in a new industry which we knew nothing about and probably still do not! However we are still driven to continue to do to this each day and hopefully get more people experiencing the joys of electric cycling which actually tends to get lost on this forum.

I am sure Russell who loved his Ezee bike founded this forum to achieve exposure of the market which sadly has been mutated in to something quite negative and damaging to the industry as a whole as people forget why they own an ebike in the first place. Get on yer bike is what I say. Flecc was an amazing contributor to this fourm and helped our business early on by providing key information to help us through difficult times with some problems we had with the Ezee bikes of which we are still very grateful for his efforts.

I wish that all the companies that I deal with in my day to day business were so flexible to deal with us as ourselves. Happy to step outside the usual remits that other businesses are constrained by through large board decisions. It is just me an my bro on the board and we react quickly to the business demands and the market environments. Obviously none of this happens without the 20 fantastic team member around us. Some of you will have had the pleasure of dealing with others behind the scenes that make the difference. Our business is like a family to our employees and customers a like. This upsets the haters out there that may be lacking this love in their own lives. Come on board you are all welcome.

The private discussion below was sent to try and understand Davids comments and rational when I have never personally met him or has he had any dealings with our company and he is certainly not a customers so I was just wondering how he got his perception of our business other than the Chinese whispers on this forum created by people with a Pseudo and an agenda to gain a competitive advantage born out of fear. If David is offended by my questions then maybe he should not make such unfounded remarks and revert to the saying of those in glass houses should not throw stones. I too am offended by his remarks but expect no such apology by such a good bloke as described on his profile. Needless to say I did not receive a phone call from David to raise his concerns in person.

As a business we stay out of the industry politics and only deal with those that concern us on a business to business basis, this can sometimes be deemed as arrogant but it is more of a discipline to stay focused and literally put our blinkers on to make sure we provide the best products and services to our own customers. Nothing else matters to us. What our competitors do or the rest of the industry do is of little concern. We are not in the cycle industry, we are not in the motor industry, we just do what we do. If somebody does not like this or agree with that it is up to them as it does not change our direction or our will to simply provide the best of the best, always in always.

I prefer in life to deal with matters directly and believe modern business should be transparent, open, honest and would ask any body to contact me directly for an open discussion or looking for answers to any concerns that they may have to scott@50cycles.com. If asking someone to be honest to themselves and to question why they think what they think or say what they say as an insult then I apologies for that but it still does beg the question of why David has an issue with our company when we have never met or had any direct dealings with him before. I am sure David is a wonderful person in real life when not hiding behind his pseudo keyboard persona.

The forum members wonder why no industry people really come on here anymore!

That is it from me for another year so if you have any other questions about me, my business, colleagues or products simply email me directly for an honest and open answer. No second guessing is needed.

This reply on the post is meant to be positive and enable an insight in to the motivation behind our business but I am sure the haters out there will find some little subtext to rip apart and twist into something negative. It seems like this is the only joy in some peoples heart. Lynch mob you are free to hang me by my own rope.

Kind regards

I don't always agree with d8veh :) but how any forum post can possibly justify a director of a company to resort to this level "It started by deliberately changing my name into a derogatory one," is beyond me.

Well the switching on and off didn't work this time! Maybe the hard drive is corrupted.

Scott - There are one or two things I need to correct. Re: “stale” and “not many views since our last posting” I am happy to say our page views and users have been consistently up over 35% (compared to the same periods the previous year) for many months now. That increase continues to hold true for January’s statistics so far in addition.

To say the entire forum “sadly has been mutated in to something quite negative and damaging to the industry as a whole” is not how we, or I’m sure a fair number of others on here, see it. As you know, freedom of expression allows people to share both their good and negative experiences - and rightly so. All experiences can provide valuable feedback to help an industry evolve, in my view.

This forum has thousands of posts where members have shared technical knowledge and experience which in turn helps others needing advice/thoughts/assistance, as well as a fair bit of banter and - a joke or two - which is far from ‘negative’ and ‘damaging’.

With regard duplicate accounts set up by traders to ‘gain a competitive advantage’ when it comes to posts about your business, we can find no evidence to back this claim.

This post is also intended to be positive. While I’m personally still scratching my head in identifying posts of D8veh’s to demonstrate ‘unfounded remarks’ reflecting a level of severity to warrant such a reproach, you have at least ‘had your say’ and put your views across to be heard - which is of course what forums are all about.

When i was looking to get into e-bikes in 2011 the Kalkhoff pro connect panasonic S series was easily the best i could find and because of this i was a customer of 50 cycles for five years and i`ve always found them friendly and helpful.

The impulse motor has been a disaster and i like many others have had problems and motor swaps. The latest version is claimed to be reliable and time will tell. Now that 50 cycles sell other top brands i would have no problem buying from them again.

Just to clear up one point. I have met you several times, Scott.
Just to clear up one point. I have met you several times, Scott.

That's the issue then you've met him but he's never met you.

o_O.

Just to clear up one point. I have met you several times, Scott.

Dear David, Helen

David I am sorry, but I do not recall ever meeting you and I am sure I would remember a guy with robot legs quite clearly!

However if I have met you in person I am sure I would have been polite and courteous which makes your comments even more low. I am sure you would not be so rude as to talk about me or my business to my face as you have done over the months hiding behind your online persona where the term keyboard warrior comes from. You are smart enough to understand the nature and motivation behind your comments and I would guess that like the other negative comments on here you are in someway involved in the industry and have a vested interest to continue you with this bullying behaviour.

Please do not pretend to be all offended to gain sympathy in this playground both you and I know that my comments were very much founded and even more so if like you say i have met with you previously. If you think it is funny to make cheap shots at me then be prepared to stand up like a man and receive much of the same back. If you cannot take it do not dish it out would be my suggestion. Likewise to all you haters hiding behind your Pseudo with ulterior motives behind your posts. If you would like a fair discussion email me directly and I will be happy to respond to any genuine concerns in real person as a verified customer.

Helen it is not nice when somebody talks about your business online is it? maybe you should think about that when you as the administrator allow cyber bullying to continue on the forum which has sadly become the nature of this platform which has scared most industry leaders away. Each dealer on here has had its fair share of insults and bullying at some point or another. This is certainly the last time I will be responding on here for a very long time and have already pulled our advertising as it felt like funding the bully to continue its daily attacks for our lunch money.

Forums definitely bring out the nasty side of human nature and would recommend any business to never ever get involved with such platforms as a business you can never ever win but I truly feel that somebody has to speak out against this modern form of lynch mob attitude where negativity prevails and common sense and rational thinking go by the wayside.

Kind regards

Scott

I always try to conduct myself exactly as I would in real life.

Assuming Scott does the same I am pleased I will never meet him IRL after the last two posts he has made.

Online squabbles.. They're a good blowout! Thanks for getting an avatar 50cycles

Even if it is a bit intimidating. :D

I firmly believe that if you have nothing good to say about someone then say nothing. My views on that last post by Scott is.....................
