A bit of help to work out a car registration number

Featured Replies

Could anyone please tell me what the car registration number is of the red vehicle in the following clip which is of someone that overtaking my daughter as she entered a junction. Annoyingly the camera mount broke a couple of days ago, and the position of the camera isn't now that great.

cant see the point unless ur going to ram a banana up his pipe :D

banana`s no use,,,,, expanding foam, nasty when it hardens up the pipe...;)

Obviously an impetuous driver cutting the junction, If I'm not mistaken looks like the turning off down to Lye Green past 500 acre wood Eddie. Was out that way on the Boardman Monday for a 50 miler.

ONL it is.

Tommie, spraying the foam down their throat would make more sense. :D

Almost. It is on the flat section of the forest, as you turn off from the B2026 on the B2188. map1.thumb.JPG.b3de8b5f5c5ac2a07b0ce498f70dd007.JPG

Exactly where I thought it was eventually takes you all the way down to Lye Green passing 500 acre(LHS) on the way.

The driver took a chance only needed someone coming up to the junction at speed.

My local riding haunt is in the 500 acre and also the woodland on the right hand side from it as you head down towards Church Hill.

It only takes me about five minutes to reach the 500 acre.

She wants to reposition her dash cam too

as the N/S A pillar doesn't make for good viewing especially if someone pulls out or steps off a kerb

as for the red mazda what a tool the black bmw was in a bit of a hurry too

I would send the footage to the police

I hate bad drivers :(

Thanks.:)

Sadly as I said in the thread starter, the camera mount broke a few days ago. Another job to add to the list.

An incident has also been lodged with Sussex police, and the clip submitted. Nothing will probably come of it, but I guess they might log it for any future complaints that might croop up against the driver.

Not always the case

My mum had an idiot over take her at a junction and the footage was sent in

The guy got done for dangerous driving , points and fined

So justice does get served sometimes:)

I had my car cam fitted by Halfords who did a good job for £30, is neat and tidy with no wires in evidence and it goes on and off with the ignition. Fit and Forget.

I have had two this week.

The first was this van at a left turn only junction turning right whist clearly on the phone so sent it to "Operation Steerside" which is supposed to be using vids to crack down on bad driving, Got a response which was.. Its not clear the driver is on the phone and we cant read the reg number, and the vid was uploaded direct, not just this youtube link.

The second was on the bike.. I needed to do a U turn so stopped, repositioned the bike as if at a T junction but parked in the cycle lane waiting for a suitable gap when a car drove past, far too close to the car in front, giving me verbal abuse from his open window. Unfortunately the car he was tailgating slowed down to turn right and he didn't..

There are plonkers everywhere but no one really cares.

Yes, def on the phone.... suppose plod just couldn`t be bothered that day.

BTW what`s the cam? Decent resolution for £30

The police seem to routinely ignore these reports and videos from the public of driver behaviour and I think they are wise to do so. There's already far too much animosity between different classes of road users and acting on such reports will only increase that. Even the presence and use of such cameras is causing ill feeling, so for that reason alone I will never use one.

£30 Was the fitting charge. Cam was around £90.. can't just remember.

so 30 quid to yet again plug in a usb cable tbh if you bought it from them they should have fitted it for free.

we have a local car stereo shop and anything you buy for them is fitted for free if there is a free slot.

tho there is a fee to fit a jackhammer as they need a fork lift to pick it up lol

I accidentslly film all sorts of dodgy stuff around here. Drug deals, racing and flash cars doing massive overdspeads to name but three . Today I was stopped by two cars going in opposite directions who stopped for a handshake and a 5 minute chat through their windows totally unconcerned that the road was blocked both ways. I wouldn't dare even put that on YouTube let alone report it, but the on the phone in the van driving with the wrong arm whilst navigating traffic wondering what hell he is doing is an accident waiting to happen .

They charge £30 to wire it through the headlining and down into the fuse box so there are no visible cables and are insured in case it goes wrong, shorts out and sets your car on fire. In my case I already had the cam from my last car so the £30 was just to fit it.

I have had it about 4 years now and daytime quality is really good.. not so much nightime tho. Nextbase had the best of all ratings when I bought it.

Our bus drivers do that all the time round here, completely blocking the road while chatting cab to cab. We just treat it as normal now.

Again pretty normal stuff. It might look like an accident waiting to happen, but he's probably been driving for them for ages without incident. I'm all for letting people do their thing since it's none of my business. If they actually do misjudge they face the consequences, so no need for me to act.
