LCD S866 - not working - error E10?

Featured Replies

I tried that but nothing happened so I am guessing it is an issue with the motor. They replaced a flat tire at a bike shop but I am not sure if they damaged the wiring.

There should be a connector on the cable about 10 inches from the motor. make sure that it's pushed all the way in, then a bit more. There's a line that shows how far in it has to go.

I tried to push it in as hard I could go but does the line need to touch the female connector edge?IMG_20250126_173953.thumb.jpg.8b8c4a8ec78166b2e64f52c7a12371d6.jpg

Yes. That's not in far enough and is probably causing your problem.

That's a really good instructional photo, showing that it needs pushing in further, should bookmark for when people come here with problems

I tried pushing it in hard but I only hear like a click, not sure if I need to press it even harder with some pliers because it will not go all the way till the marker reaches the edge
Don't use tools on it , they are tight but one should only use hand strength to push them home.

If you have any silicone grease, add a blob. It not only helps push in and pull out, but protects against water too.

Ok noticed something strange. So I changed to another controller i bought thinking it was a controller issue, shorted the red and blue wire for the display connector on it and got a red flashing light on the controller. It flashes 10 times and then off and cycles again 10 flashes. Connector went all the way in till the mark. My guess is something is wrong with the wiring inside the motor? I am thinking of ordering an ebike tester to see if it is a faulty hall sensor, or maybe the entire connector is loose or broken. Thanks for all the help.
A simple DVM is all that is needed to test for Hall failure , if you have moulded connectors then the task is more difficult.

The flashing LED is normal. The flash sequence indicates the error code. 10 flashes probably means OK.

It has the 9 pin julet connector. I am trying to get an adapter to separate each pin individually so I can test them since they are too close to each other. I got a hold of a dealer on ebay that sells spare parts for this swagtron bike and he pointed out something interesting. There is no error code e10 on that bike. Supposedly if there is a problem with the motor, the display lights up an icon telling you there is an issue. If there were no comma, it would be another icon so I am guessing this display sent me is not compatible either with the controller. I'll see if I can order the 9 pin adapter and the tester to clear out any issues with the motor. Thanks for all the help provided.

What connections are at the controller end as it is often easier to test them there.
For the motor, the controller has a female 9 pin julet connector which makes it difficult for me to fully insert the multimeter probes since the space is really tight.
Buy/use another opposing 9pin connector and use the wire tails for testing with, better still place the wires tails in to a wire connector strip to prevent shorting and use the opposite side for probing.

Hi everyone. Just wanted to thank you for the help. Managed to get the swagtron working again. Issue was the display. Problem is that the en06 display and controller these bikes use are customized. This is why I couldn't get any other screen to work with the controller. Luckily, found an ebay seller who has surplus parts from the brand since they went out of business. If you try to access the display menu options, you can only dim the screen and change units from miles to km. Nothing else since it is blocked.
