Featured Replies

I want to convert my medium fraame carrera vengences but dont know what kit and battery to use it should be 1500w-2000w and needs to be hub motor it would be nice if it came with a tyre on the wheel but it isnt required im looking for it to be about 400-650 pounds.

Wrong forum for that kind of motor.

A 250W conversion will be fine unless you intend to ride at illegal speeds.

its not for on road use

Yeah, right!

Even off road it is illegal, unless the land is private and the public don't have access to it, and you have the owner's permission. Almost none of the UK falls into that category unless you are a Lord... which perhaps you are!

My grandad owns about 2 acres of land and that will be where the bike lives

Bikes such as you describe don't work off road, because those big hub motors are direct drive, and not happy at low speeds. Their design purpose is high speed cruising on relatively flat surfaced roads.

So if you want a bike for riding round in circles in a 2 acre field, you need something different. The types of 250W geared hub motor or a mid-drive conversion that work well at legal speeds on hilly roads would do just fine.

The clue is in the forum name, ie Pedelecs .

A pedelec is a 250w push bike that adheres to UK regs.

A 1500/2000w conversion is a moped come motorbike as defined by DVLA .

Why not a petrol kit if your not taking the bike onto the road? Cheaper?

So you're going to ride round a tiny two acre field (90m x 90m)on an electric bike? After three laps, you're going to be bored out of your head. What's the point?

Does this kind of thing still draws a crowd? 2 acres could host a "wall of death".

Problem though is there is little policing of e-mopeds disguised as e -pushbikes,

I see them often where I live as many other will do in their localeand , users riding with no pedal input , a dinner plate in the rear wheel and riidng at speeds that doesn't shout rider input.

#9 there is one with a very similar set up or could even be the same set up locally here that one can hear coming.

Looks sick but I don't think the neighbors will think so
